Dumb ass...... Harrier jets have a problem with hoovering at the same spot, they suck all the oxigen and heat up the air underneath the aircraft so the engine fails because it starts to suck up hot air without oxigen.
That's dumb ass should have kept it in mind instead of showing of.

Ok, if thats true, wich i'm sure it is, why make a hovering plane??? If you can't hover ???

I don't get that.

Actually it can hover...... at a greater alltitude where there is anough room between the aircraft and the surface for the air to refresh at the same rate or faster as the engine is sucking it up.
This pilot was hovering it to close and to long to the surface, the air between the aircraft and the surface got to hot so the engine starts to loose power.
Alot of harrriers got lost this way.
Let's just call it a design error, boeing was working on a military jet wich could hover but encountered the same problems, production was not started.

When I was in the Marines they would hoved 5 feet off the ground all the time while we were out in training its a scary thing watching a hovering harrier hover and face directly at you

They do that on military bases and ships where they have kind of miniscular "holes" in the ground wich actually provide the hovering aircraft's engine with fresh air.

AV Roe (Avro) was also developing hover technology back in the 50s in Canada...before the U.S. pulled the funding plug.
