Did you ever see someone die right in front of you?
When I was 8 we were playing kickball when the ball rolled into the street. My friends brother ran into the street and a car ran right over him and he died on impact.
Whenever I cosss the street now, that scene always flashes in the back of my mind. PS His mother commited suicide a month later. |

Yup, had lots of people die in front of me. Running on medical calls when I worked for the local PD.

My stepfather after a long period of sickness - very peacefully
A guy who's parachute didnt unfold .. the worse thing I have experienced with deaths, was while working as a pilot in the US. I was on the radio with a guy that experienced icing on the wings, and he could not pull out of the stall.. heard him scream and crash.. Never forget his words: "call my family and tell them that I love them - please" |

I use to do the night shift as a cameraman for the news. So every other night I'd see people die...AND have to film it while it happens

Then once when I was driving up the M1 motorway near London, I saw a motorcyclist with a squashed head lying in the road. Two years later, I witnessed a traffic accident caused by a speeding woman motorist who wasn't wearing a seatbelt and who had her baby daughter in the car. The engine caught fire and I had a great time (not) trying to get them both out of the car before it was engulfed. The woman tracked me down a week later when she got out of hospital and rewarded me with 4 bottles of Stella Artois. It cost me alot more than that to replace my ruined suit. I should have left her to burn, the stingy bitch. That same year, I ran over three squirrels on the road in the space of 5 minutes. That was the most disturbing experience of all, I can tell you. The little fuckers just wouldn't stop running across the road. Then later that year I ran over a hedgehog and a rabbit in the same night. Words don't describe how bad I felt about that. Surprisingly, I didn't grow up to be a psychopath, although I do visit goregasm.com every once in a while to look at the rally crash videos. |

saw a guy drown when i was a kid. He was a huge fat guy, took nearly 4 people to drag him out of the water, they tried to revive him but he was dead long before the ambo's got there.
This will sound morbid - but at the time I was absolutely fascinated with watching the whole process. There were about 15 or 20 people doing different things around guy that drowned. The usual screaming and crying and then there was the people calling hte ambo's and discussing how to revive him - the people trying to revive him. Also have attended funerals with open caskets and I tell you what this has to be the absolute WORST tradition to have at a funeral. A very good friend of my died last year and all I can see when I think of him is his stone dead, cold, motionless body in the casket. It's a terrible thing to do - never ever shall I go to another open casket

I held my grandmother as she died just 2 weeks ago. It was a humbling experience.

While I worked on the Rescue Squad in Richmond, VA, I saw quite a few people die. None of those really stick with me though... perhaps it was because I was prepared for those situations or maybe it was because there were always another two people on the squad, experiencing the same things and we were able to discuss these things and put them behind us.
The death that still bothers me is one that happened about 8 years ago... a head on collision in front of my house. I ran out to help and the lady in one of the vehicles was horribly maimed... her family couldn't even identify her, other than a birthmark on one of her feet. Before I even got to the car, I could smell death and already knew what the outcome would be, however it still didn't prepare me for the vision that remains burned in my mind. As I looked at her with sadness, I could see... and feel the life leaving her body... while I touched my own stomach, feeling the life that I then carried inside. Everytime I hear screeching tires and/or a boom... her image pops in my mind and I try to prepare myself for the worst. Fortunately, the wrecks that have occured in my vicinity since then haven't claimed any lives. |

One night I came home after going out and my neighbor rang my bell at 4:00am, she wanted me to help her with her husband. Ambulance was there and they needed someone to help the driver getting the man into the car. Well, I was a little bit high and tired (after some hours partying and sex with gf) but ok... we took the man to the first floor and everything's alright, he went to hospital. I didn't see the guy dying, but it was pretty close, he was almost unconscious and very pale. First thing in the next morning they told me he died, couldn't resist the heart attack.

I once saw a guy have his beating heart ripped out from his chest, then be lowered into a pit of lava. It was WACKED.

I saw my Grandma pass on after a day on life support. I swear to god I saw her energy leave and move upward out of the hospital. Thats really interesting you said that as well. I will never ever forget that moment. I never really beleived that anything happened when you died, I sorta subscribe to the scientific view of life (once your dead, your dead). But, after that, I revised my views a bit to enclude energy's perpetual existance. |
