Past Lives: Do We Really Live Beyond Physical Death?
http://www.rense.com/general67/BBCboardletslife.htm
I could never believe in past lives or reincarnation or whatever, but I've had the chance to read up on it and more than half the population of the Earth believe it and there are documents and cases where people have accurately detailed who they were in a past life. Whatta you believe? I think it's something worth studying up on. |

Flat out no.
My reasoning. 1. More people alive today than has ever died in the past. Coupled with: 2. Most past live people always claim to be Cleopatra, Queen whatever, and so on. Nobody ever claims to be orphan boy who was molested and died due to anal complications at age 8.

As for the number of people then and now, that doesn't add up as that's assuming life only started here and ends here. Much more surprising case studies abound. Same thing with ghosts. I never, ever would believe in ghosts but had to admit the phenom was real but what the real source is is still up in the air. I know many, many ghost hunters and wouldn't touch that job with a ten foot pole. |

I'd guess no. The keyword is "guess". No one knows one way or another I suppose, I'm willing to side with a guess of no becase I want to live free and well in the life I have and worry less about one that I may or may not have one day.

I totally believe in it. And that thing about more people being alive now doesn't work. It's not like a cosmic time clock where everyone dies and comes back immediately. We bounce around as beings of light from body to body, eon to eon, decade to decade. It's all about gathering knowledge and evolving to our higher selves.

The problem here is if it's true, then it's easy to prove that it's true by just a cross section of people who can recall details that can be checked out. That's happened ALOT already but it's not major mainstream news. In India it happens all the time but we don't have controlled experiments to review from our side of the fence. It's amazing because what it says is everyone gets out of live alive, just with a new ass to put on like a new suit of clothes and start fresh. |

All the Buddhists, Orthodox Jews, Hindus, even many, many Christians and Muslims believe this too. Christianity had past lives removed from the Gospels during the Conference of Nicea centuries ago. It was removed by a guy who wasn't even the Pope at the time. Go figure. Hard bit criminals freak out at the idea I've noticed. They're worried people they killed or fucked over will come back and kick their asses. Figures. Politicians the same. I have to put it on a low burner til I read all the scientific data I can. |

Well, it's been proven that energy doesn't cease to exist... it's transformed or transfered in some way.
It's also been proven that our body uses electrical signals... as well as body heat... as well as motion... etc. So when we die... that energy has to go go somewhere, become something. Whether or not it's reincarnation, heaven, hell or just floating around the cosmos... who knows. But, certainly, some small part of you becomes something else and continues to exist. |

it's possible, where does all the energy go that is released when we pass on..? i believe the energy is passed on almost recylced...
"for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" not sure if it works in this context but it sort of makes sense

The 'self' is a specific configuration of brain matter. It's not the same in any two people, EVER.
One 'self' can only be itself in it's particular brain configuration. One person is never another person. |

I believe that we live to learn..when we end this life, we move onto another life to learn something else or perhaps the same thing we were supposed to learn in a previous life...all this until we have learned everything we need to know....
I do not believe we come back as animals or bugs. I also think that sometimes we don't move right on to the next life, sometimes we may stay in a transitional state, a spirit form for a period of time. It is karma. If we fuck up in this life because we are greedy assholes, maybe next time we end up living in poverty, etc. I know alot of people think it's nuts and that believing in some 'heaven' and 'christ' make them feel better, cuz afterall, if you pray and ask forgiveness, you can pretty much live however you want and at the end...you simply say 'please forgive me'. I think that is a christian ideal that lets them get away with anything. I can't live like that, thinking I can live however just to ask some imaginary entity to forgive me so I can go to 'heaven' and live with the rest of the hypocrits.... ![]()

That's when a person in an accident or even just relaxed or unfortunately on drugs or just happy or in some emotional state sees themselves and their environment from outside of their body. Even when they are 'clinically dead' with no brain activity this phenom has been recorded on a vast basis. I could count it off as a hallucination but bona fide doctors are given details by the patient about goings on in the room or down the hallway or elsewhere. Soldiers in combat have far too many stories the same. If it weren't for the accurate descriptions from other locations that are verified on the scene I would count it off as delusion. So I don't think you 'need' a brain to be conscious, I think it's probably the other way around or neither. It's something worth studying for sure. |

When I was involved with hypnosis some years ago, I did a number of past life regressions..
Every subject experienced the same thing upon their past life deaths.. They all said that they floated upward and could look down upon their bodies and the surrounding area... Then would drift into a nothingness.. then eventually begin seeing totally different surroundings as they became the person in their past life.. I took some back to 2 and 3 past lives... None claimed to have been royalty or rich.. One lady was an English mail order bride on a ship to this country.. One was a veil dancer, one was a wife who died giving birth to twins, one was an indian who was shot in the neck. and on and on... They all gave very detailed descriptions of their lives... but.. I only tried to verify the existence of one individual with interesting results.. I never tried to prove it all to be true or false.. It was just very fascinating to me.. and to the subjects.. There have been cases where they did verify and the past life descriptions were right on the money.. But.... who really knows???? |

Think about it. Its the energy field that drives the physical body. Once the energy field has left the body is useless and inoperable. Turn off the power in your house and then tell me what electric based devices work. Nothing. They are all dead and non-functioning. The body is just a sophisticated physical device that is electromagnetic too. Anyway back to the question, this debate has been ground through the ringer here many times. You either understand and recognize it or you don't believe it at all. Ask yourself where your consciousness is. Why can't it be physically seen? Because its pure energy. If you've never experienced an interaction with the after life soul of someone close to you who has departed the physical realm, it is an mind awakening and fascinating experience that gives you a new perspective on things. I think even if you believe, you can never truly validate your belief until you have one of these experiences. If you keep a closed mind its challenging for the departed souls to communicate. If you let your mind have the power to elevate to the higher energy planes and dimensions, its easier for them to connect with you. Its sad that so many are such solid non-believers. You don't know what you're missing. Letting your mind experience dimensions beyond the physical realms is like going from the stone age to the future.

What's more alarming is it's not necessarily a 'religious' issue and why the hell can I find solid resources from reputable research areas and the mainstream news can't? Yet they'll spend half a news cast about religious people killing each other in the name of peace. I think the world needs this issue brought out publicly and finalized once and for all. Well I guess it would be a good idea except all those dead CIA and other foreign spy people who are now back as the other country's kids Who knows what secrets get spit out by accident. |

Oh, forgot to mention that the thing that got my attention was the recent research in quantum physics. Dr. Michio Kaku and Dr. Hawking are on the same page here and that's opposite of what they said when I was in college. Their research points to the physical universe being the effect of some form of conscious thought.

Franck is correct. For once. There is no afterlife, no reincarnation, no nothing. It's simply nonexistance, you go back to being what you were before you were born: Nothing.
Arrogance, ego, and frankly, ignorance, has lead man to feel he's so important that he MUST continue on after death. Nope. You're just as useless and disposable as the I ant I just stepped on. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I don't believe in life after death. Death for me is every human's ultimate end; nothing follows after that.

I truly hope that one day, you guys that don't believe get to have an experience with someone who has passed on.
That's the only way you'll see the light literally. As you get older and those you love start to pass on, is usually when it will happen. From a scientific perspective, you have to at least acknowledge, that everything everywhere is merely a vibration of atoms. Both physically and spiritually, we are just electromagnetic vibrations. Our bodies are more complex than we can perceive with our five senses, as science connects metaphysics in declaring that the physical body is not a continuous solid, but is basically composed of particles and waves of energies. Matter in general (and our bodies in particular) is therefore essentially a construction of our senses: it is really the interaction of patterns of energy, vibrating at interwoven frequencies and intensities. From this vibratory matrix emerges an energy field that surrounds and interpenetrates our physical forms. This field has long been perceived by sensitive people, though generally scoffed at by skeptics. "Do you remember how electrical currents and 'unseen waves' were laughed at? The knowledge about man is still in its infancy." Albert Einstein

Hey KRL got news for ya, you, nor anyone else, has ever had "an experience with someone who has passed on".
Stop eating the shrooms in your garden, those are mildly poisonous. I want you to live a long healthy life. Because I guarnatee you, it's the only one you'll ever have.

theres 2 different views i take on this subject:
1) i saw my (dead) great grandmother, as real as day, standing in my living room with my dead dog. i cant forget that. i cant ignore that. now, im not sure if the soul takes form so that we know how to reconize them (because obviously, they dont have a body anymore so how would be reconize them?) but we do live on after "death". 2) i read a book called "Life on the Other Side", had some interesting (and not so interesting) opinions. One was that: we all *choose* to come back to earth, for whatever our reasons are. did we not finish something? do we want to learn more? whatever our reasoning, we all choose to come back to earth. this was the only thing in the book that i could say that i truly agreed with. since i was a child, i always felt like "an old soul". like i've done this before....several times. and now, i'm just tired. if indeed we "choose to come back", then this will be my last time. lol |

1) Hallucination, happens often, in fact, everytime you have a dream. Seems so real doesn't it? It's not.
2) The author of that book hasn't seen "The Other Side" any more than you have. Hence, he's talking out of his ass and feeding off the weak minded. Final note: Those of you clinging to those "Out of Body Experiences" as some other sort of "proof", you can forget those as well. It's your brain playing games with you, particularly oxygen deprivation games due to not having a pulse. No bloodflow to the brain. Amazing how powerful our brains are. Much more fascinating area of research versus the endless "hope" that this isn't it...
