Howto: Here's how to backup your web server
I came across this article today. It's a question that I'm asked from time to time.
http://www.mezzoblue.com/archives/20...er_b/index.php It's rather technical but if you step through it carefully the first couple of times you'll know how to save yourself from disaster.

I'm glad that you guys found it interesting.
I have a couple of web servers. I use a method very similar to the rsync method described above. I don't think that it's that hard to setup a cheap (any old computer) web server in your office. Then, if you write a script that once a week or so backs up your server there in addition to a local backup, you'll be well protected and not have to worry too much about a hacker owning your site, a hardware failure or dispute with a hosting company.

Um, if you're not doing backups or have any kind of business continuity plan in case of disaster, you really _REALLY_ should.
