Howto: Here's how to backup your web server
I came across this article today. It's a question that I'm asked from time to time.
http://www.mezzoblue.com/archives/20...er_b/index.php It's rather technical but if you step through it carefully the first couple of times you'll know how to save yourself from disaster. |
Nice article man...!

I'm glad that you guys found it interesting.
I have a couple of web servers. I use a method very similar to the rsync method described above. I don't think that it's that hard to setup a cheap (any old computer) web server in your office. Then, if you write a script that once a week or so backs up your server there in addition to a local backup, you'll be well protected and not have to worry too much about a hacker owning your site, a hardware failure or dispute with a hosting company. |
nice find. thanks!

Um, if you're not doing backups or have any kind of business continuity plan in case of disaster, you really _REALLY_ should.
