New Hurricane Headed For Bush's Texas???

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/grap...tml?5day?large

It's not lookin' good for the gulf of mexico again as one of two storms is headed that way. Prediction is widely that it'll hit Texas as a hurricane. Hopefully it will drop in power and miss Florida too. Real scary and here we are with a storm with an R in the name. We're soon gonna run outta alphabet letters.

Anyone in Texas readying up for this?

Oops, luckily the 2nd storm Phillipe, will veer off to the north far away from land. With our luck it'll pick up steam and hit Britain or something.

Look at the worst case scenario, what if that storm hits Florida with force, goes into the Gulf and then slams the shit out of Texas. That would be ironic to the Bush clan and a tragedy.

Hopefully this time people will be prepared and learn from the mistakes of Katrina.

He will probably fire off some nukes to intercept it. Pushing it towards Florida... That's what they get for not knowing how to count in the first place.

These things rarely end up where they say on the 5 day track projection.

Watch it nail NO again. I got a bad vibe.

If it hits NO again that will be the icing on the cake. You'll have to bulldoze the whole region.

It's gonna hit somewhere and it's lookin' like Texas is the biggest target. Also, check out the water temperature for the next few days. That'll be deciding point. Timing and temperature.

Oh that would be fffffucked up!!!

I could never see the appeal of living in hot ass florida or the gulf coast with all the mosquitoes, heat, and hurricances.

Why the heck is real estate so high there?

Jesus the track on the computer models is moving northward toward Louisiana.

It will be a Cat 3 to 4 by the time it makes landfall.

Plus that right side is the side that gets the brunt of the storm.

That mayor is fucking total idiot to be bringing people back in right now. If this storm nails them, you won't even see the roof tops at all.

If anyone is in New Orleans from here. Time to plan your exit strategy again.

This is not looking good because the meterorologists keep moving the track farther to the right on each update.

If Rita maintains it's current course it will be a VERY strong hurricane before landfall. Waters in the Gulf right now are between 86 and 90 degrees.

It's probably heading for us here in Houston to help drive the NO'ers out -- this is actually exactly what Bush wanted. He isn't very happy about "refugees" in his beloved hometown.

Just what we feared. If the temps stay that high somebody is gonna get stomped. This is going to be a scary and close one. Looks like more storms are forming in the Atlantic as low pressure systems are being detected. God help us if this storm turns out to be another Hurricane Mitchell. That storm is still in my nightmares. Nobody paid any attention til the last minute. Killed over 10,000 from flooding.

I don't know what cities are on the Texas coast so I'm going to look.

Everybody in the keys was ordered mandatory evacuation and because there's only one road out the road is jammed.

I think the reason the U.S. is so slow to respond and handle things is because so much of our resources and attention are focused on non-American priorities and we get caught short.

Gazooks! It would be like 'Shrapnel City' all over again.

Glass and nails and bolts flying about at 100mph? Sheeeeittt...

The storm just picked up steam and is rolling at 12mph. We have no idea where it'll head once it hits the gulf but one of the most reliably accurate companies that was featured on WDSU.com had the storm hitting just above or in the direction of Galveston? Don't know how big Galveston is but if I was them I would move just to be sure.

Do people in Galveston even know how to prep for such a storm? Obviously NO had their heads up their asses. I guess people think Florida is the only ones who know wtf is going on.

That being said, I bet any folks who moved from Fl. to NO are survivors, they knew what to do.

You can bet response time will be better if it hits Texas, for two reasons, the first already stated:
a) it's Bush's home state, and
b) Katrina was a wake-up call... you think Republicans are stupid enough to fuck up that bad twice?

Most definitely - they learned their lesson back in 1900 - when just about everyone in Galveston was killed - they have a great sea wall built that will weather the storm - but:
Id be a lot more worried about NO - they are on the north/right side of the hurricanes predicted path which will mean they will get the worst of it since its already so big - I think they said about an hour ago its already up to 150 mile radius or 300 mile diameter - and the Natl Hurricane Ctr head honcho was just on TV saying he wouldnt be surprised to see it become a Cat 5.
That would be enough to tear down the flood walls in New Orleans with no problem - you thought the flooding was bad before - this would float all the bodies in the cemetaries out (since they use crypts above ground) - and completely swamp everything - not just a few thousand houses - and thats if it keeps going to Texas - if it turns towards the NW at all NO is sunk - literally

Also just heard on the local emer preparedness channel down here that FEMA is making a decision by tomorrow morning to pull all the rescue Navy/Marine ships, the cruise ships and the Army troops out of New Orleans starting tomorrow - they have to get out to sea below the hurricane to ride out the storm -and they want the troops ready to come back in so they will move them up the river about 50 miles

yeah, it's unfortunately looking not too good at all. It will take a miracle to stop this storm.

Linkster is right when he says the eastern side of the storm may hit NO. If It does NO will be scoured clean and literally no longer exist. It will lift the toxins and oils up and out to sea endangering the gulf. If it hits Galveston at a Cat 4 things could be nightmarish.

I saw a news report this morning about the FEMA trailer homes that they house victims of Katrina. There were miles of these trailer homes. The problem now is crime has gone through the roof at these trailer parks and the cops are swamped!

WTF? Are we getting a lesson in that Darwin was right? Give people the right circumstances and they'll chimp shit all up the first chance they get?

Fema is giving them rent free housing til Feb. Then they get booted out. We've been housing Iraqis and Afghanis for FREE for years and we can't support our own people whom we failed?

You guys do the math. The U.S. is run by corporate foreign interests and that's why we got fucked. Everybody's pissed cause their plans of global conquest got fucked up by an act of God.

Preparations are already underway.

The state and local government of Louisiana , is corrupt, indecisive, and
incompetent. They tried to blame their fuck-ups on Bush and were happily
assisted by the MSM.

Don't expect to see that happen in Texas.

Most of the storms that hit the state of florida swing north, and hit NO. That would be really BAD!

Every hour the reports get more menacing. This shit does not look good from any angle.

What may be worse casualty wise is if that thing hits Mexico and causes flooding. Their building codes are too lax and like Hurricane Mitchell it could kill thousands.

Ewwww, now a big ass storm is in the Pacific looking like it's headed for the west coast.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if some police raid by Interpol found some secret base with a mad scientist in it with a weather machine.
