I watched that movie for the same reason I watch any kung fu flick... over-the-top kungfu goodness and incredibly bad cheese-a-licious dubbing.
What other reason are there?

Gotta understand Stephen Chow humour. If you watch a dubbed version, much of the comedy is lost, I'm afraid. I watched it in Cantonese with English subtitles (since my husband is white), and half of what's translated makes it really...not funny.
