One of the most rewarding things about working at home is being able to take mid-day naps. Who else in here takes advantage of this glorious situation?

I'm off for a two hour nap.

I read a book called the "Biology of success" and it said that if at all possible you should take two 1/2 hour naps a day. Its says if you sleep for more than a 1/2 hour your body shuts down to much and you will actually be loosing performance even though you think you are rested and will work better. Its a real interesting book, talks all about the actual biology of what makes us perform best.

If i'm really tired, i'll go for a nap.

But i find it hard to get any sleep during the day when i don't feel so bad. So it's only every so often for me...

I used too aswell.....or better almost got forced to. In spain the whole country
shuts down between 2pm till 5pm it's called Siesta. I used to take a nap on an
airbed in my swimming pool. I had a floatable tray with a string attached to
the airbed so I could take a sip from a cold drink whenever I got thirsty by
the sun

Jobs get mad at me though. What I don't get is why the fuck is it a problem for someone to take a nap for lunch who still returns on time but Joe Smoker can go outside for 15 minutes every hour or 2.

If you sleep for more than an hour during your nap, you're probably going to wake up a little dazed, because your brain was getting ready to shut it down for a while... The key is to keep the nap under and hour, preferably around 30 minutes so that you get the rest you need w/o putting your body into shutdown mode.
