what will mad.com go for?

Hey guys, some of you remember when we had the Massive Adult Directory up on mad.com (a few yrs back)... Since then, it's been vacant and now we'll see what a name of this caliber will get on the open market:

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...m=200459 4308

How high do you guys think it'll go?

It's 6K right now with 6 days to go. So it will probably go for 10x that.

BestCDPlus.com for $250, everymovieplanet.com for $250, TidalGear.com for $7,500. what are they smoking?

For those who were curious, mad.com reached it's $60,000 auction buyout price which forced us to close the auction on eBay! In fact, we received 3 offers at $60k or above, one at $75k (but not payable right away). It's good to see the domain aftermarket still has some buy power for top notch names.

For more info, check out http://www.mad.com/

on a related note..... aren't ip addresses running out and fast? I remember a solution to this problem but can't recall.....so under this assumption, won't domains become more valuable with time and isnt this the same reason that all the .whatevers are being shot down?

yeah in time ip addresses will run out. they have to make a version of tcp/ip higher than 32 bit. boy will that be fun.

Beemk,

A replacement to the current 32 bit IPv4 has been underdevelopment for quite a while. IPv6 addresses are 128 bits long.

Find out more here:
