Now, if you lost everything, would you really play the moral card and not take the chance of solidifying your own self by possibly looting a store? Get fucking real.

food, diapers for the kids, water - ok - I understand and I would go after these types of things if my kids where going hungry - but the other actions with people grinning ear to ear with handfuls of jeans, suits, electronics, jewelry, etc... doing this type of theft should be prosecuted - these people didnt even care about the cameras or try to hide their faces - I wish that the police keep the tapes of this and go back in a few months and start prosecuting the worst offenders - but I highly doubt anything would ever be done like this.

Instead of passing judgement on a few bad apples which are in any city, why not think about all the children and parents who are trying to survive the tragedy.

Elli, I'm not sure you know how it works there. The people that are looting already have free or subsidised everything. Housing, food, clothes, medical care, etc. is all provided by the government. They aren't thinking about taking care of their families, they are thinking about buying rims for the car that insurance check buys. Nobody will be starving in New Orleans, there are more people helping with this effort than ever and they will be taken care of. The looters grabbing food will have it better for a few days while things get set up, the people grabbing 200 watches will be selling them drugs or nonessentials when this all blows over.

Damn dude, these guys have only been in trouble for what, two days? What is it going to be like there after a week, a month, a year? And it will take that long, and longer before their lives are back to normal.

Your apparent feeling that this is okay tells me that you would not be beyond doing the same if you were in the same situation.

That in turn tells me that if some unforeseen, personal catastrophe came up, it would not be difficult for you to justify actions that might be contrary to my client's best interest, and thereby fucking me in the process.

Not a chance I can take. Nothing personal, but I am not doing business with anyone that might put me in that situation.

All the rich people already got out and there are the poor ones left over. There are also people that have lived there for generations and won't give it up. Look at the people that would rather fight and die than leave the Gaza strip.

There are a ton of houses under water so having food supplies would be freaking pointless. Some people are taking food, water and dry clothes and I think that's ok but some are going to the extreme.

There are some exceptions like your house being flooded.

I had a look at the insurance policy of a friend of mine with a cell phone store this morning just to be sure before I confirmed it... and I was right.

Retail insurance policies do NOT cover looting during emergencies.

Why do threads like this always wind up as race threads. If the floods happened in any poor neighborhood, their would be looting. And there will likely be more looting in poor neighborhoods of all races than in affluent neighborhoods.

And it's always the minority of any given group, not the majority involved in these activities.

My point was and my point is, I can understand looting food and essentials because people have to eat! There's looting on both sides... black, white etc. There's major destruction in 3 or 4 states. There was a guy from Tulane who's stuck in a hotel (on vacation) and their talking about looting food because the hotel is running out of food. I've lost alot of respect for people in this thread and other threads. I'm sure I don't do business with you and I don't plan on doing business with you. Even if I did, Would you think I would hide my comments for fear of not doing future business?? lol. I've said this before and I'll say it again... the ego's on here are out of control. I'm educated and I've done well in this biz, but I I can understand and symptheize (spelled wrong, don't care) about the unfortunate. And there will likely be more looting in poor neighborhoods of all races than in affluent neighborhoods. And it's always the minority of any given group, not the majority involved in these activities. It's wrong no matter which way you look at it, but why inject race into it?
