there were reports that cops were at walmart with everyone else breaking into shit and taking it away.... and at a drug store in NO the cops said the people could come in and soon as they were done getting emergency supplies

we can sit here and argue over something like looting but we are forgetting the big picture...

these people just lost everthing they had, which for most wasn't much at all.
Some lost family members and if you have been watching CNN you will see that their are young children who can't find their moms or dads...
I think looting is the least of the worries right now...

There is always going to people in any situation that take advantage but that doesn't mean that everyone that lives in Nola are criminals or low lifes... Criminals and theifs live in nice areas too, hell they might even live next door to you...lol

Look at it this way. You are telling someone who has had nothing their entire life, barely enough to put clothes on their back, that they can loot and take anything they want for free. As much as I disagree with it, it is human nature to take what we can get. Look at file sharing and how many people just download songs for free. Is that better because it is more of a white collar crime?

On the other hand, it is pathetic. Although some are grabbing food for survival, others are grabbing TV, jewelry and anything else they can grab of value. There is a reason people are grabbing boxes of diapers instead of baby food.

I agree with a point made earlier. We hear about people in poor neighborhoods complaining about no jobs or businesses in the area. Well now we see why. Do you think the guy who owns a shoe store on the corner is going to re-open in that same neighborhood? For any excuse they make up, all they are doing is shooting themselves in the foot.

Do not put their decisions they have made in life, as some guilt trip on me, and make society continually pay for their misfortune.

This country has gotten way to soft on this shit for fear of being labeled. It is clear this was going to happen as soon as the storm hit.

Care to wager on what will happen next?

It is a text book example:

1. Event happens that occupies law enforcement.
Result: looting

2. Looting is now complete. Lets resort to violence.
Result: riots (riots will ensue at the Superdome shortly)

3. Rioting is done, blood has flown. Lets now do a cash grab.
Result: Queue Jessie Jackson and Rev Sharpton

Um, been there and done that. 9-11, I had no home for 3 months because it was 2 blocks away. I was walking around that area all day long on 9-11 with no one around to stop me. I can honestly say, that not once did I think of taking something that wasn't mine. My friends and relatives had to talk me into going to red cross to get help for me and my wife and kid.

Some of us steal, some of us leach off of others,very few of us pull up our fucking boot straps and get on with it.

If people need help that is one thing. Stealing when other people are down is the fucking lowest of the low.

hey, i WORKED for what I have. I didn't steal it from someone else. WORKED for it. Yes, I've been homeless with no money and no job and not eaten anything but scraps for a week. Now I make 6 figures. And I fucking WORKED for it.
