What is the best coffee $ can buy?
I like anything mild, i'm not a bold drinker. We have 8-oclock coffee in the house at the time, & it tastes like birdshit to me. I tried a starbucks house blend (mild) & it was ok. I really like a vanilla type bean (flavored) or hazel nut. Or just a good coffee i can flavor with my half & half.
Suggestions & Url's?

The one that needs a monkey to shit it out first, or whatever.
Is that an urban myth? Story is that this coffee bean is eaten by a certain breed of monkies only in Costa Rica, which is then havested out of their dung, and costs $100 a bag or whatever. Not a coffee guy, but I recall that beeing the Dom or Cristal of coffee to the elite. Someone go look that up and see if it's true or not.

One of the best vanilla flavored coffees around is "French Vanilla Velvet" from http://www.damicofoods.com/ D'Amico is an Italian grocery store I used to shop at years ago when I worked in New York for a while. It was a lucky chance that when I moved here and had to either give up decent coffee or buy online, theirs happened to be the first site I found. All their coffees are excellent... |

sounds like our tastes are similar, i can choke down the starbucks standard but i really dig the morning mild drip. If you have Tully's around there, try their drip o'the day. it's usually much more mild than the starbucks standard.
For your home brew i have 2 suggestions: 1. Nicky Beans Kona Prime 2. Peets New Guinea Those are my favorites I've found so far. Let me know if you find something you dig. |

The best coffee money can buy also cleans my house. I stick to the beans I grind on my own.

I've tried every brand and I always come back to Dunkin Donuts Arabica ground coffee.
Some DD facts: Why Dunkin' Donuts? Dunkin' Donuts has a reputation for brewing high quality coffee for more than five decades. In fact, Dunkin' Donuts is using the original proprietary coffee blend recipe established by its founder Bill Rosenberg in 1950. Today, Dunkin' Donuts is America's largest retailer of coffee-by-the-cup, serving nearly 1 billion cups of brewed coffee each year. On an average day, Dunkin' Donuts sells more than 30 cups of freshly brewed coffee each second. Dunkin' Donuts uses 100-percent Arabica coffee beans and has its own coffee specifications, which are recognized by the industry as a superior grade of coffee. Based on Dunkin' Donuts Quality (DDQ) specifications, coffee is milled and processed specifically for the company. Dunkin' Donuts team of experts carefully oversees its coffee to ensure a consistently high quality cup - from the coffee cherries on the farm to the precise standards for brewing and serving Dunkin' Donuts coffee in stores. As coffee is viewed more and more as a commodity, Dunkin' Donuts Tree-to-Cup program is a revolutionary approach to coffee management. The company proactively establishes and monitors stringent specifications for quality starting at the coffee farms and throughout the entire coffee production process. ![]()

dont pay more then $25 for your french press either. I think Starbucks sells it for $45 when you can buy it for half that cost elsewhere.
I like a wide variety of coffee, so I can't help you on a specific bean that's better then the rest... |

yea 25 is good....i have found them as low as 9 dollars....but....you see the pic...just get that.....its better coffee than your 500 dollar fancy perculator :P and i know my method is MUCH more primitive.....you boil the water and dump in the fresh grounds...pour the water in...stir.....or just set wich ever you prefer.....makes its stronger or not,....then push the screen down...and viola....best damn ...boldest coffee ever

Although hotels should offer french presses, the last 4-star i stayed in a couple days ago after a fishing trip, the water resevoir made me almost puke. Needless to say it was cleaned within 3 minutes & i was given half off my next stay. |
