| I've had it a few times...usually start sweating and feeling sick within a few hours of eating. Sometimes I'll get diarreah or throwup or both. Usually takes a day or two for me to get over it and then it's all good. Hope you feel better soon |

yeah..forgot to mention the cold sweats. I went to the gym before I cooked (supermarket trip first to buy said food) and I thought it was just my hot sweat turning cold but I have been clammy for hours now.

 | I saw an NBC undercover report that indicated 1 out of every 3 chicken packages they tested at supermarkets had salmonella or some kind of potentially food poisioning bacteria. When you think about how gross eating dead animal meat really is, its amazing more people don't get sick. I'm pretty much all vegetarian now, with some seafood occasionally for protein. Normally it can be 1 hour to the following day depending on the contaminent.

Sarah has described the symptoms of salmonella and a bunch of other stuff too... Salmonella or food poisoning typically includes a fever. When I had it, it lasted a few days. I was married to the bathroom for awhile. Slept next to the toilet for two full days. I'm not a doctor. Hope you feel better.

 | May have been the food, then again may have been something you picked up at the viral and bacterial breeding ground known as the gym.

Not a doctor as I said before, but think it is too late for that. You can always call a doctor. Sitting in an ER waiting room was out of the question..

 | You can never tell when or how fast the food poison will hit you. My mom said that when you encounter such, just take a spoonfull of sugar as first aid. I do hope you'll feel better soon sarah.

 | I've had it a few times. It varies in time frame. Sometimes hits you w/i a hour, and sometimes next day. Depends on a lot of factors the dr's have told me. Also depends on severity of the food poisoning. I was unlucky everytime, and had the double barrel going, if you know what I mean. Nothing like hoping back and forth from diaharrea, to throwing up at same time. Disgusting. Needless to say, never ate at those places again. What someone else said is true as well, about it being life threatening. Friend of mine's cousin was paralized by it. She is in a wheelchair. She had a very very severe case, and it fucked her up. Almost killing her. When in doubt, go to the e.r. and make sure they take care of you. A lot of times it's mild, and you just have the cold sweats, double barrel fun, and all that. But if it's more severe, you can have a lot worse. |

 | yeah, I got majorly sick (not food poisoning, thought it was) about a year ago... did a ton of research.. basically, there's so many type and symptoms of food poisoning, that it's pretty hard to diagnose.. if it hit you that quick after eating, then it's likely that you got a bit of e. coli.. salmonella takes a bit longer to hit (6-72 hours), but also lasts for a week *up to a month occasionally...) |

 | still weak feeling today but not puking anymore. Took me forever to actually sleep last night but when I did I slept much longer than I normally do. Going to take it easy and work from the laptop from the bed today and find the most bland food I can. |
