how are they doing this?

This adult community seems to have a way of spamming google.

http://www.google.com/search?num=100...=Google+Search

They got the top spot plus there are like 20 or so in the top 50 that redirect to them aswell.

Are they just buying up expired domains that are already in google, changing how they will be indexed and then redirecting it?

Is this just a short lived thing that will change when google finds the redirects?

hmm....
looking further I see that all of the ones that redirect end with this:
perl-cgi-community-scripts.html

so I quess I am real confused

Check SE Watch website re "questionable" techniques.

The best way to get on Google is to have feeder sites linking to you re certain keywords. Promote these feeder sites for higher link popularity, for details check out se watch

Sounds good to me.

I like to be able to find stuff without being spamed all to hell.

The best thing you can do to protect the integrity of the engine and the adult internet community is to click the "Unsatisfied with your results? Help us improve." at the bottom of the search results and explain your experience.

Practices like this only hurt the adult communities efforts in the search engines making it tougher to do an already almost imposssible job. If the search term was at least relevant to the Adult Industry I'd say no harm done, good for them.

As far as how they are doing it it's easy. They bulk a bunch of keyword pages, upload them to a shit load of domains and redirect the traffic to wherever they want. I did this about 4 years ago using 1000+ domains to push traffic to like 28 adult sites. Worked for about 3 months (about 125,000 uniques a day) and then they all got blacklisted due to irrelevance, redirects, and dynamic pages (cloaking). Not a good long term ranking solution, and did more harm than good.

Question what exacrtly do they blacklist? Do they blacklist the domains the files are on, or the recip links on the page, say Joe Blow is doing the illegal ranking as you say but he links to "blahblahblah.com" on the same page does blahblahblah.com get blacklisted?

Just curious, if so seems like an eveil way to bring others down.

Am I making sense?

They'll pull the domain and all pages under that domain.

ok, so they dont like ban all the links on the page or even who the page is redirected to?

Just curious, because I know some of the bigger companies do this, and if thats the case and Google cracks down, we might lose some of the big names out there...

But if they just blacklist the domain the files are on, and not who they redirect to or blacklist all the sites linked on the page, such as if a tgp was blacklisted, just curious if I have a recip link on a page that gets blacklisted will I suffer too, from what you're saying, no. Cool.

Seems like they would blacklist the domain that it is redirecting to.
Other wise they are only treating the symtom and not the cause.

Well the reason I ask is because many people do this for affiliate programs, and I have a few webmasters whom I know nothing about selling some of my sites through CC BIll, now if they use this method of "search engine abuse" why should my sites get blacklisted, thats what I was getting to...

Blah

Worst case scenario, they will blacklist the domain FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. The domains are not totally impossible to recover a few months later...It takes time to build up the relevancy to even hit some keywords the original ranking once held before the blacklist.

Will they blacklist the domain it is redirecting to?
Google does not like to blacklist sites and kick them out. They state this in their fact & fiction page in About Google. From what I've seen, a determining factor is how relevant (and popular) is the page being redirected to? In this case, where (keywords are) relevant, the score is high (the page rank is 6, which is fairly high).
Secondly is how far did the abuse go (10 domains vs. 1000). I personally think that Google would only simply "boot" out the domains that are redirecting using irrelevant keywords or all redirects associated with that traffic target. I have been marketing in Google since they officially opened their doors to the search engine public. They often create their own facts&fictions because only they really know what they will do. Everyone else has too much to lose. Realistically, I think the backlash would only be as bad as the complaints number and cheating is detected. I say 3-4 months.

Will they boot all domains linking to it?
No Way. Google has too much to lose in reputation and search result value. Although when abuse get's bad enough, I've seen the search engines throw some pretty heavy blows.

They could be buying up expired domains. Seems like the most recent trend of "easy result" marketers. It all has to be a stepping stone that you build on or it will die within a year, be wasted. Long term results are very possible in the search engines, including Google, with a well optimized page. Guess what guys? Doorway pages still work. Who ever is saying they don't, doesn't know what the fuck they are doing.

Ludedude, damn bulkers is right. It's pretty amazing what a little perl or php can do with a few good templates. The trouble is managing and maintaining it all.

Fletch XXX, I wouldn't worry unless it gets to become an extreme scale. Most search engines don't spider URl's with ?, =, or id variables in the URL. Google does, but the link does not rank for your home page, your home page is the one that is cashed, spidered, and ranked.

Hope this helps answer some questions. SE marketing is what I've done full time for the last 4 years with adult Internet services providers. I write a lot of articles for resource centers and Klixxx, including a bi-monthly in Cozy Frog's Cozy Academy HUB, I author "Traffic Talk" under Cyndalie that is all SE related.
