Shuttle no go fo landing...

They have waved landing for 24 hours due to low cloud cover. They are getting all kinds of coverage of this on c-span. Even showing live feeds from the space station.

wHAT A FUCKIGN WASTE OF MONEY ALL THIS DAMN SPACE SHIT IS.

it sickens me. People starving in our own countries and we pour millions and billions into this? TO wait and see if it blows up?

Cripes. if they INSIST on going into spac, at least fucking design a new shuttle that's safe for fuck sakes instead of wasting away billions watching it blow up.

I forget the Star Trek movie that was all about us discovering the technology to do deep space exploration but it was one of the best later ST movies. I keep waiting for that to happen. Till then I say fuck NASA and all that money theyre wasting.

You obviously are not aware of the multitude of products that have come from space exploration nor do you realize for every $1 the US Government spends on NASA it makes $7 from corporate and personal income taxes created by increased jobs and economic growth. So if you axe NASA the US Government would either have to find a better investment or cut its funding for other programs (maybe we can just cut out welfare and food stamps).

that's a stupid atitude man, like the Nasa budget will save the poor world... there's enough money in the world without terminating the human nature of exploration to save the poor people, if you should blame anyone it's the rich countries leaders and not Nasa cause that is just pure ignorance.

Your own ignorance is showing. Are you aware of the advancements in technology and medicine as a result of space exploration? Contribute to the cure of a disease and that not only helps people, but saves money too.

Now go do some research on the subject and post a list of the technologies that have grown out of space exploration and then explain to me how the world is not better off?

okay..firstly it isn't ALWAYS blowing up, secondly I would like to see you do this job without the advances that space travel has given us. Thirdly, if people didn't explore (and that is what this is) then there would be no 'Americans' in the first place. Lastly, they are working on a new craft.

*shakes head* that rant reminded me of the day the Challenger blew up (a big day in my childhood) and my stupid babysitter said it was god's punishment for not staying on earth where he put us.

I don't care how long they are up there as long as these heros to science come back safely. *goes to sip her tang and undo her velcro*

If you can't see/understand the importance of space exploration, that is one thing. But to wish that the astronauts on board are all killed is just wrong.

first of all, stop fucking spamming me.

secondly, they choose what they are doing ... to participate in what I consider to be a fucking useless and dangerous job.

third - take it easy - "hoping it blows up" is an exageration of how i feel about that this is a fucking stupid thing to be doing. the only people i want to see physically harmed is molestors.

We need space exploration to move ahead. Progress is needed to further develop our understandings of the unknown. A lot of good comes out of these missions.

I am hoping for a smooth return for that crew.

Put your actions where your mouth is. Do not partake of anything that has been developed as a result of the space program.

Well since you apparently didn't go to the link someone provided I will give it again -http://techtran.msfc.nasa.gov/at_home.html and list a few things we wouldn't have without NASA:

- Cordless power tools
- Water filtration systems for your home
- Anything at all that involves a satellite
- Laser Surgery
- Artificial limbs as they are today
- A number of things used on airplanes to make sure you don't die

Just a few things and not even to mention all the medicines and things like velcro, etc.

Oh, and the imagry systems used in CAT Scans and MRIs. If you're anti-NASA, don't ever let your doctor use one of those on you

We do porn - these guys do more than that BIG STYLE - they have my respect anyday.
