Taxes suck. I'm moving to Costa Rica, from Canada, in large part to avoid taxes.

Non-resident in Canada + Costa Rica's geographical tax laws = 0% tax rate for me.

Nice, must be good knowing you'll have to comply with the German obscenity laws on your adult sites being a German citizen and all

Id be revoking that shit ASAP if i were you, unless you have investigated what the German pornography laws are and are happy with having to verify EVERY surfer entering your adult websites by snail mail

Regards,

Lee

What do you need to live in Costa Rica full-time (and legally? ). I lived in Panama for 8 months but used to go in and out on tourist visa every 3 months

Ah, who cares. I'll deal with it when the time comes (there are always many many ways for everything). All I want is the damn passport.. free access to all the countries in the Union. I hate tourist visas

no need to learn German. They teach English in german high schools, so every one knows English.

I am Jewish. My grand father was born in Germany and survived the holocaust. A few years ago in Israel they started giving out passports to descendents of German citizens - so my whole family applied last year. While I have no plans to live in Germany, I do find the passport extremely useful for complete free access to the entire region.

I couldn't care less about my "porn career" I've put my adult projects on hold due to the whole uncertainty that's going on. That and because I'm currently involved in a promising mainstream search venture, and don't do much adult anymore. 90% of my income is coming from mainstream and investments these days.

Like? Im sure its different for you then for me as a dutch citizen but Im like 5 miles away from Germany, besides the lower VAT theres really nothing it offers for other EU citizens imho, so what do they offer for US citizens?

PS 99% of the EU citizens have no clue what a green card is

PS2 dont learn german

You do not fully get it. lol.. if you are really unlucky, 1 picture gets you a big fine or puts you in jail. German laws are quite extreme currently...

Its just a warning to be careful anyway...

Well, a green card simply means I'm a permanent resident in the US. That's pretty much the same as being a citizen, except that you can't become President one day Damn.

And now, even if I wanted to apply for citizenship in a year or two, I can't, because if I accept another citizenship I will lose my German one.

As for the benefits - I don't care much about the taxes and that sort of stuff - I'm thinking about the opportunity to live in any EU country I want. My gf and I were always planning on moving to Spain, and now it's going to be easier than ever (once we get married she will be able to work, and eventually become a permanent resident). My first visit to the EU as a citizen will be a week later when we travel Greece for a month. So fucking great.

True. Just make sure you dont reside in Germany, since you gotta pay taxes there too. And you dont wanna know how high they are, dutch taxes are terrible but german are worse.

Anyhow guess you know since offer offshore etc... if you need to know anything or get stuff translated just tell me, I speak german, if you need ppl who do fluently there are some here madalton/amazingcontent for instance.

Thanks man

I already instructed my CPA to look into all the relevant tax implications Anyway, I don't really have any desire to live in Germany, at least not any time soon. I definitely see myself spending 4-5 years in Europe soon, exploring many different countries and just living it good. Man am I excited...
