So I'm going to become a German citizen on 09/09
Nice collection so far.. Thanks to my grand father I was able to apply for a German citizenship last year.. my Naturalization appointment is on Sep 9. About a week later I'll be getting my passport and the real fun begins! :pimp My gf is so freakin excited
Israeli citizenship + US Green Card + German citizenship Bye bye taxes |
this European Union shit is nice.. always wanted to live in sweden for a while
|
Taxes suck. I'm moving to Costa Rica, from Canada, in large part to avoid taxes.
Non-resident in Canada + Costa Rica's geographical tax laws = 0% tax rate for me. |
Nice, must be good knowing you'll have to comply with the German obscenity laws on your adult sites being a German citizen and all :1orglaugh
Id be revoking that shit ASAP if i were you, unless you have investigated what the German pornography laws are and are happy with having to verify EVERY surfer entering your adult websites by snail mail :1orglaugh Regards, Lee |

I thought you were Jewish? Why Germany?
|
no need to learn German. They teach English in german high schools, so every one knows English.

And now, even if I wanted to apply for citizenship in a year or two, I can't, because if I accept another citizenship I will lose my German one. As for the benefits - I don't care much about the taxes and that sort of stuff - I'm thinking about the opportunity to live in any EU country I want. My gf and I were always planning on moving to Spain, and now it's going to be easier than ever (once we get married she will be able to work, and eventually become a permanent resident). My first visit to the EU as a citizen will be a week later when we travel Greece for a month. So fucking great. |

I already instructed my CPA to look into all the relevant tax implications :thumbsup Anyway, I don't really have any desire to live in Germany, at least not any time soon. I definitely see myself spending 4-5 years in Europe soon, exploring many different countries and just living it good. Man am I excited... |
good luck to you. hope you enjoy being a german.
|
Congrats to you man. By the way, you better practice speaking German language as early as now, or are you good at it already?
