You told about your Mom's letter and that is a good example of the fact that people dont really GET that kind of advice. Everyone has to "find" the truth of life himself. Any decent psychologist can tell you how to live a balanced life during the first meeting, but still you have to visit that fucker for years before you discover the balance yourself.

I dont quite agree here. I think you can make a decent living within any business by working 7 hours a day and you dont need to sacrifice the important things of your other life like sex and friends and consuming beer. And if decent is not enough, you can just hire people to do your stuff

Anyways I agree on Amp's first post, I have been doing this for years and for the first 3-4 years I was slacking, did some free sites, didn't understand anything.. gave away too much, too cheap etc. I believe most webmasters start out that way, which is not good. There's too many new webmasters every day hoping to get lucky. For the people who really invest in this and dedicate their lives to porn this is a setback.

Lets look at it this way, you plan to open a burger restaurant. Ok, you get good quality meals, make contracts with suppliers and spend a fortune on marketing. You know your shit, success should be around the corner. NO! Around a corner is 200 small joints selling burgers cheaper with stolen meat inside. hehe..

actually you're far way wrong. Most of these kids earn pennies, but I do know some guys that are in both industries and their porn sponsors through warez bring 6 digits of $ per year easily. Three of them post once in a while here. Traffic is everything and people seen less porn than the rest will convert better. It's not necessary at all to look for porn to purchase a membership. Popup a porn sponsor in a mainstream big traffic site and see more memberships than your lifetime hun listings.

and dont tell me about targeted traffic on porn sites because if you go to google and type "i dont want your fucking free sites and i want to pay for a membership!!!!" you'll end up on a tgp or in the best case in a free site. You see a hentai sponsor on a warez/crack site and you find it silly, but have you ever thought why it's a hentai and not something else? Even this is targeted traffic and way better than the one most of you have in their sites.

Why can't you have it all? That attitude will get you straight into a nine to five job pushing paper for someone who CAN have it all.

Who is worthy? The guy or gal that can fucking produce. Period. Hiring is not always as easy as it sounds.

People like XA graphics may crank out 2 sites a day for the low low price of whatever... while I may spend 3 or 4 days just thinking of a layout.... then I take it to the calculator and break it down into exact pixels.... mass-production is not an option with me.... I don't care what it pays.

The point being.... 2-fold.

1st... you get what you pay for in this world. End of story. Don't fucking argue, cuz you know it's true.

2nd... For those of you at the other extreme... yes, you do indeed get what you pay for, but OVER paying is just as bad.

I do twice the quality at less than half the price of certain unnamed Pros... and it's based on the fact that I want the shit with my name on it, to make a lasting impression.... not because I have $350 listed in a web page somewhere. Fuck time. Time means shit if all you produce is SHIT.

I agree whole-heartedly... that's my preferred mode of work... unfortunately, clients, most often, don't see it that way. Thus... the stress ensues.... and shit is created as a result of a deadline.

Believe me... I've put out some real crap because of "I HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW!!!!" Thankfully, all my current clients understand that excellence takes time.
