Good point. I'd like to hear the response to that, not that I'm bringing models with me but I can see it's ruffling a few feathers.

Aly talks about herself in the third person? Now THAT'S dodgey!

Actually, it was just easier to incorporate the existing press release that way without being grammatically schizophrenic!

I'm going to have 6 to 8 people with me ... you add flights and rooms ...it's a lot. Not sure it's worth it. I don't mind $300 for the 4 employees but another $1200 to get the models into the hotel ... on top of there rooms ... I feel like I'm being raped .....

I'm just amazed that people are complaining about only having to pay for passes. You could be spending 10k on a booth, plus airfare, plus paying models to work the booths, plus per diems for the employees... etc...

This is actually a cost saver for most of the larger companies who do booths.

I don't think most are complaining about buying passes .. I'm not complaining about paying for the 4 guys that work for mobbucks or the 4 suites that I'm getting. It just sucks that I'll only bring 2 models down with me instead of 4. i think the models bring a certain feel to the show. as for a booth I had one last year and decided i didn't want to man it at the last minute ..i can get more done meeting with people. I just left it empty.... to be honest I'll spend more then 10k at the show this year and I'm cool with that ... but i would never get a booth ..the return isn't there

I am interested in how the new layout will be ...i'm looking forward to that ..

Long live free speech...

I got banned from the show.

How convenient since I am about the only guy to come out publicly in support of .XXX and capable of intelligently debating it's use and implementation.

Hypocracy...

Ben, I read your other thread... would your position about Tom be different if you knew there were technical difficulties that Tom couldn't hear aly?

it did appear as you described, but there was indeed some technical problems..... but you were pretty quick to jump to a negative conclusion about tom.

If you had ever spoken to Tom, while his role as AVNonline editor, or now at FSC, you would know he is very passionate about issues that effect the biz, and being in the Comm. Director positon, he could have made alot more money elsewhere, but found the position to be a perfect match, so that he can continue to represent the industry in a postive light on key issues.

My opinion would be different if the FSC didnt collect $300 bucks per new member for a 2257 deal made with the Government then announcing a Golfing event on a live show after mad collections...

WTF?
But hey lets keep smiles on everyones faces...

it did appear as you described, but there was indeed some technical problems..... but you were pretty quick to jump to a negative conclusion about tom.

Here, here -- ! -- Tom is an eloquent, impassioned speaker, and the FSC scored in snapping him up. Not many people understand both our world and the media world. Tom is one. Aly another. Props to both.

Yes, I was quickly informed of the technical 'realities'.

Actually, I did get to meet and talk with Tom at San Diego in June at the FSC Symposium on 2257. But he didn't do a lot of talking, (the lawyers did...) and it was clear that he was attempting to still find his 'sea legs' at that point in the organization. I don't fault him.
