It amazes me that days after the whole thing happened there the UK already has intelligence leads and has rounded up suspects, made arrests, and found alleged bomb making dens.

Why do we have such a hard time doing some shit like that on our end?

I just have to say that I am pretty surprised how quickly the polt is unraveling over there in the UK and how many arrests have been made..

The US identified all 18 plane hijackers within 48 hours of the attacks and proved their link to al-Qaeda. A top of that the US and other countries are trying to confict 100s of others for aiding in the attacks.

A negative point is that 6 of the suspects are possibly not the real hijackers at all and the FBI falsely accused the wrong people. Not bad all in all.

Umm we pretty much already have such issues. They may not be "government" cameras but the government can get access to them the second anything happens. We also do have government cameras on nearly every stop light and sign post in our city. Combine those with the assortment of outside security cameras and such and well I would assume that for each hour I spend in town I am on film at least 3/4ths of that.
I do think the UK has a lot more, but do look around they are already here and been here.

THey seem to be doing good work. Also in Madrid the spanish police closed in on the Al-Qaeda cell within 4 days after the bombings and after stopping a second railway attack.

We do the same shit on our end. Several al Qiada cells have been busted in the US since 9/11. Three fourths of the known leadership of al Qiada...at the time of 9/11...have been killed or captured in various locations around the world. Hundreds...if not thousands of al Qaida members have been killed or captured.

Most of the cameras are used for traffic control.

You have to pay £8 a day to drive in london............. every road in and out has cameras to snap your plates. Traffic cameras were everywhere so police could stop the grid locks or try to. Then most stores have them for shoplifters and office have them as it lowers insurance costs and number of security guards required etc.

Very few of the cameras have anything to do with the government.
