Credit guru's

Hey guess

I have been thinking of trying to build credit lately so I got a credit report done and this is what it showed me

? There are 0 potentially negative items in your report. What if I want to dispute an item in my report?

? You have 0 accounts in good standing in your report.

I have never had a cell in my name ( always done prepaid ) and I have always been a cash man

What is the best way to build credit ? and what is a good site to get a credit report that shows my score.
I know I do have some outstanding bills that I am paying off but that one didnt show it ?
but it did show a few companys that have looked at my credit when i applied for some stuff

also what is a good cc to start with ? Low start up fee would be niec
I would hate to get raped with a 600$ startup fee and monthly fee's and all that shit that gets spammed to me

Get a `Secured credit card`. It requires a deposit (which is your 'credit' limit) and stuff like that, and slowly builds your credit. Ask your bank about it

Jcpennys, Sears....even some hotels like comfort inn etc. have their own brand & will hook up people with no credit on small levels, like $300.

I've got my own credit question, can medical bills, like ones that were late etc. show up on a credit report?

Depends. ANY past due bill can show up on your credit report but usually medical bills will not unless its reached the point of being sent to a collection agency. Once that happens they most definitely will.

Most hospitals have there own department that they call " collections " to make you think it is sent to a collections agency.

Also all hostpials have signs that say if you can not afford medical treament we still have to help you or some shit like that and then you can go to the billing dept. to get help with it or get it waived

I never did it myself, but I hear Chase has a good program, and so does Citibank. Most large banks offer this. It's usually a Visa card.

that debt may eventually be forwarded to a collection agency and that will show up on your credit report... Secured cc is a way to go. Home equity loans are pretty easy to get too, but that's if you feel comfortable putting your home on the line.

How long have you been self employed for? I'm surprised you don't at least have a ploc in case of emergencies.

edit: check out http://www.transunion.com/ or http://www.equifax.com to check your credit report.

emergency rooms visits are less likely but doctors visits and tests, yes, they can show on your credit report

Than definitely get a secured visa card soon. You have the cash to give them as your deposit, so it shouldn't be a problem.. and just charge everything from now on, till you reach your monthly limit

EDIT: then pay it off
