Which home security company do you use?

I'm in the process of getting a security system in my house. We were initially going through ADT, but they've shown up late on the consultation and late today for the install. We actually cancelled the install due to the lack of professionalism.

Who do you use for your home security? Are there any other reputable nationwide nationwide security companies that you would recommend?

They all suck ass, only reason to use one is the insurance premiums deduction so it really does not matter.

Neither will the alarm company much, seriously.
You are just about as safe with the damn signs as you are with an actual company.

Just make sure it's not silent alarm.

I used to work late nights at various businesses and the alarms would go off from time to time. It would take the police at least 30 minutes to arrive. Sometimes up to an hour or they'd never come at all. Not just the police in one city either.

It's not a DETERENT if they don't know about it. You're not prevent someone from breaking in you're jus tpreventing them from LEAVING( well in one piece that is )

OK guys....

I have a fiance that feels safer with an alarm. No it will not be a silent alarm, and yes it does help insurance premiums. Don't worry about whether or not I have guns to protect myself, because that's not an issue.

All I'm asking is whether or not people can recommend a reliable company? We have used ADT in the past and their response time was immediate... So immediate that within 2 minutes of the alarm going off, there were police at my house. As long as the alarm is sent to a police station/fire station, I'm about 2 blocks away from fire and 5 blocks away from police.

I'm unhappy with their professionalism at this time though, and I'd rather not pay $800 to install an alarm when their staff can't even get here in time. I hope this makes sense.

They (ADT) just call the police/fire/ambulance when the alarm is triggered, same with any company really.
The install staff and the monitoring stations are entirely different.

I used to have ADT .. they were pretty good. figure most of them are like the cable company, they'll get to u on their time, because they now know you need them.

I got ADT. Ive triggered it accidentally a few times and the company has never called in to see why the alarm went off or to follow up.

Make sure you use the motion detector when youre not at home.
I watched that show "To Catch a Theif" and the thiefs break into homes with alarms, but the alarm never goes off because the motion detector isnt turned on.

Guns are no help when you aren't home.

I have 2 male Rotts that would take issue with anyone entering the home without me being around.
