Signups..is this just a "burp" or is it

a downright bubble burster?

April was touchy for me..and then towards the end of April and continuing into today, I've found that signups have been remarkably down.

Now I know many of you are have BANNER months/weeks , but it's a bit puzzling to me to try and figure out what the heck is happening right now. Is it the economy? The start of the "summer slowdown"? Or has this country REALLY drifted religous right and people are now actually getting nervous about signing up for porn?

Curious to any and all theories as to why there appears to be a slow down in the adult industry right now in terms of new signups.

Actually the last couple days of April and first few days of May were fantastic for me. Most of this week has been slow but today seems to be chugging along well. I think the best solution is to stop looking at your Stats and feel confident that doing your daily routine will bring in the sales as usual. Ups and downs.

When I play poker I don't win much in short 2 hour stints, but if I sit around long enough and approach hour 5 and 6 I start to clean up. Oddly enough, I've seen the same with porn.

It is possible my sites have hit their "limits" and it's time for new niches/ideas.

But to the others saying "pay more pop/get more links", the irony for me is that I have added several different traffic sources over the last few weeks from sex.com to spotbrokers.

I know I'm not the only one that has experienced this..so my hat is off to you that are doing well. I'm curious as to what those who have experienced downturns (consistently) have found to be the reason.

If you are having a slow start to this month, read this thread:

Other people are reporting the same thing.

here's a a few things.

1.

right now in most colleges in america kids are either preparing to go back home for the summer, or it is finals week.

in both scenarios this group is unlikely to commit to a monthly membership.

2. much of north america is finally coming into some warm weather, in fact in middle america this has been the first full week of seasonably warm weather---people are outside working on their lawns or throwing a frisbee, not stroking their meat online.

3. this past week we have seen world-wide issues with viruses and connectivity issues---ccbill has been having a few problems, also paycom, and if people do not have virus protection on their home box they are getting hurt. you can see some common traffic trends on alexa total traffic is off.

anybody who buys the bullshit coming out of the processors is a fool. third party processing is all most people have in this industry and the entire industry is hostage to it. i see the numbers and no i'm not talking about the site in my sig here, she's kicking ass most days - conversion ratios all over the place varying from normal by as much as 120% from day to day. nigga please - tax season, weather, time of the month and the umpteen other excuses don't wash, not to that extent anyway.

Prepare yourselves....
This weekend, sales will suck.

Mother's Day

Many people are traveling to visit family, entertaining visiting relatives, and doing the family thing.

Hard to sneak away and checkout a new porn subscription...

So use this time to let your Mother know how special she is

I know for a fact that the processors' scrubbing is ridiculous right now. Anyone who says I'm full of shit probably works for one of them.

Factor in the average shaving of most pps sponsors, and the numbers, well they suck bull balls.

1. they work less
2. their site is old and stale and needs to be updated
3. their sponsor's content they are using is old and stale
4. they might have server side problem, so bandwidth, etc...
5. their traffic source might be geting saturaited.
6. the new traffic their buyng might suck
7. their traffic suppliers traffic might start to suck.

address the points above and you can fix the problem... now if you want to kid yourself... believe these:

1. it is a slow time of the year.
2. my sposor is shaving/scrubbing. (they all shave / scrub)

the two above you can not control, you cant control what your sponsor does and you can't control the time of the year... (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) therefore since you cant control it there is nothing for you to do. This is convient for people who make excuses. typically when you make excuses you are not looking to fix a problem. Instead like people group together and bitch about that damn summer slow down, even if it is still april/may.

Also, not to sound like a pick and hate to pull back the sheet from over some people's eyes, but the problem is the individual, nothing more nothing less. this is too hard for people to understand or accept.

It is always the people who are NOT doing good that buys into this garbage, summer slow downs in april, tax days, kids going back to school, exams, kids gettinh out of school, the econmy, bad weather, good weather, gas prices, the pope died, mothers day, football games, christmas... according to you people there is slow down every day. the other thing that is funny is that for every person who is having a bad day there is one having a good day, but typically people having good days dont come and bitch about it so all you hear is the ones having their bad days. ah blame it on the easter bunny.

but there is statiscal proof that 99% of the people who mention shavings/ scrubbing make less then the people who do not mention it or believe it.

yeah yeah yeah yeah..that has been knocked around all over the place.
But there are things that you haven't even began to address like how consumers are spending their money these days..the fact that consumer confidence is down and thusly so is their spending. Throw in the growing religious right's confidence in "flushing out the sinners" and you might actually be forced to open your eyes some that things have indeed changed in this country over the last few months, and that we all need to be aware of this.
Spending habits DO change. At least ENTERTAIN the possibility before you go jumping down people's throats simply because they want to discuss the situation. Good grief!

I don't know what IS the answer(s), I think you are just being a little too glib saying "it's your fault if sales are down and there is no other reason for it."

Entertain the possibility??? LOL you obviously don't know me. You think I am a noob? just stumbled across the interweb thingy a few days ago? I've been trying to educate people about this for years... most poeple don't want to listen. It gets old after a while. sometimes i sit back an laugh at the summer slow downs in april and the " pope died and my sales have been shit since" other times i feel the urge to try to help, but hey what do i know?

I really need to write a book about the "slow down myth" and just send out copies, 9 out of 10 of you believe in it.

Problem 1 with your thinking.. mainstream does not equal adult internet. need to erase that from your head.
Problem 2 with your thinking.. internet is not just US surfers.
Problem 3 with your thinking.. you talk consumer spending like that makes a shit of difference. Trying to compare porn to purchases of clothing, food, or new cars or houses ?? How many people here smoke. How many of you stop when consumer spending is low Porn is like smoking, people not going to stop. They will cut back on buying new shoes or going out to dinner but they not cutting back on their porn. Infact for a lot of people it gives them comfort. Ah, just got liad off today, go jerk off to a hot chick and make myself feel better. etc....
Problem 4 with your thinking.. how it is possible to have people doing good durning these " Slow downs" how is that possible. If it is really bad why would it not be bad for everyone ? LUCK?? Answer that one question for me and I will stop right here. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THERE TO BE A "SLOWDOWN" BUT YET THERE IS STILL PEOPLE WHO ARE DOING GOOD OR EVEN BETTER THEN NORMAL ?

As usual, you flap your lips repeating the same thing about "summer slowdown isn't happening".
You repeat the same old crap line over and over. Yes, there are people doing well..no one has said otherwise.

You cannot grasp a 2 sided equation in economics..because you have bullet proof evidence on your side: "how can there be a slowdown when some people have said their doing well, or even better than normal!" Damn...that's some really tight logic there! yep..

You contribute absolutely nothing other than to say "you're all idiots to even question any downturn in spending." So go buy another dozen blow up dolls and have a blast!

way to avoid the question

nice side step, trying to resort to name calling at this point so we will miss the fact that you CAN NOT answer the question....

Enligten to me the equation in econmics that will explain why I, and many other people continue to make normal to higher then normal sales, adverising the same product in the same market place as you but we are not affected by this *slow down* but you are.

You almost got it here:

but you dismissed it really quick and started trying to make excuses. you are looking for excuses. you are asking people to tell you reasons why you signups are down, but not real reasons like your sites may need to be updated like you touched on, no you want people to tell you it's mothersday, its summer, it's daylight savings time.

Why do you want to look for excuses and waste time doing that when you should be updating your sites and looking for new traffic because that iswhy your sales are down. hmmm do work? or research downturns to explian why my sales are down.. work or downturns... work or downturns...

I'll just add this.. If the "religious right growing in power" isn't stopping webmasters - the guys actually threatened - from running their businesses then why in hell would it even be in the back of joe blow's mind when he sees something on the hun he wants to pay to jerk of to?

I recognise there are spending patterns and that they effect porn, but the religious right gaining influence as a reason for someone to lose wood is one of the worst theories i've ever heard.

You ever see the ocean flat? No difference in business. Everything is cyclical and comes and goes in waves.

If my uncle was a women then she would be my aunt...

why are you even giving "what ifs' that are not even close to being the accurate.

FACT, start a poll here on how everyone's sales are doing everyday. There will always be more then 50% people having bad days.EVERYDAY... People who are doing shitty are more inclinded to bitch about it and everyday you will see people here talking about their bad sales and what is causing it and never once pointing the finger at themselves.

wil76 bro, clickcash doesnt usea 3rd part processor, they use their own merc.account and till recently (maybe still) they didnt even ask for CV2. Their scrubbing ratio is lower than any 3rd part processor. So unless you are reffering this time to another program, you can't really tell :-)

It's not about losing wood, it's about being less loose with signing up for sites.
Before you laugh and say there is no such thing as surfer paranoia, I've got a couple of friends who have said they aren't going to be joining any new porn sites for awhile because of fear of their name being found out and getting back to their wives. They said they would wait to see if Bush & company get smacked back down or if the right wing gets even more powerful.

I'm not at all saying this is a BIG factor now. It isn't. What I am saying is that it's something we need to be aware of. No matter how much we want to dismiss the ability to "frighten" people, the religous right is growing in it's power and abilities to do just that.

Sure..the "chronic masterbators" are always going to sign up. Those that still are leary of the net and especially identity theft/loss of privacy are now being given more reasons to be cautious.

i guess it just becomes over rated and over saturated. or maybe.. peole are busy trying things (what they've learned in such adult sites) out for themselves.

Thats funny, I am sure the govt wont look back a couple months or even years. Your friends have some incredible logic there. If the govt starts arresting webmasters and collecting the info on the people who joined their sites and arresting the members, the govt is certainly only going to arrest the people or expose who signed up in the last few days. No way the govt would look back to see who signed up 6 months ago or a year ago

the govt is not even arresting webmasters yet muchless going after their members or trying to expose them. Unless it is a kiddy porn site they are signing up to.

Soul, usually people tell me that Clickcash scrubs harder then most ?

I guess based off of what you said and the fact I am doing very well with them then people might want to start using ClickCash?

non biased poll for last week's stats....

https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/465046-sales-week-week-bad-post7291719.html#post7291719

17 people average/above average week
11 people below average week

Looks like there was no industry wide problems last week. And for those of you with isolated problems you better dig deeper then saying summer slow downs and kids out of school were the cause of your problems, poll above kinda destroys that logic.

You've missed the point completely. It's not IF the government will or will not do it..it's the PERCEPTION!
