New Car Designs SUCK! Gimme a classic car any day!

As an illustrator I've got to draw characters in a 'hot' car. Guess the fuck what? Ain't been a hot lookin' car since the mid 1970's.

Then all these generic looking clones started being produced.

Only cars of any awesome design are the greats like Lambourgini, Porsche, Jaguar...

Yeah, blah, blah, yeah, blah about aerodynamics my ass.

A car should have it's own outstanding design, character, flair.

I couldn't tell you one car from another.

So true. I was and am a classic American muscle car fan and I was so disappointed when Pontiac dropped the ball last year with the very boring body design (based on Australia's Holden Monaro) for their otherwise hot new GTO. Great engine (from the 'Vette), great wheels and awesome interior design, but lame-ass style. it looks like a rental Grand Am. I am still driving my '96 Ram Air T/A. Can't find anything I like better.

And GM wonders why they lost billions the first quarter of this year. They don't have a "cool" looking car left, except for the Corvette.

I must admit Ford did a nice job with the new Mustang though.

You're right, the 'vette is still unique and no matter what year Corvette you have you still look cool driving it.

One of the girls dashed out of the house last week screaming about the new Mustang. I finally got a glimpse and the next day a guy at Starbucks raved about it too.

I remember the original Mustangs when they came out. Back in the '60s and early '70s cars had character. '50s too don't let me count them out.

I've seen some awesome classic cars here in LA. They preserve better I guess. Not as many now as I saw on the road in '99-2000 but still a few.

A car's style and performance and luxuries are what makes a car company. There are designers out there that the big car companies won't even give the time of day even though these designers could turn their company's profits skyward.

When I was a kid we had a toy set called 'Hot Wheels' and they would feature the hottest futuristic and muscle designs and we couldn't wait to grow up and drive.

Cars are all super safe, radar enhanced, air bagged yadda... but the bottom line is when you and your chick are out rollin' do you feel like you're something.

If the new Mustang is as hot as people say, maybe it will usher in a new age of cars designed with character.
