Suicide is for pussies. No matter how big a problem seems, no matter how fucked up your life looks, it's never as bad as you think. Personally I'd rather wonder the earth as a homeless man for the rest of my days than take the easy way out. People kill themselves over such stupid shit... money, women/men, etc. The only people for whom suicide is the solution are people who have done horrendous things to other people, but those people never kill themselves. Some 25 year old will kill himself because he looses his job and his girl in the same week, yet people like Pinochet, Hussein, and Rumsfeld, who would be doing the right thing by killing themselves, will never feel any guilt. Sad but true.

No seriously though I use to "hang out" with this chic who kept talking that suicide shit. At first i'm like no - it gets better, thats the cowards way blah blah. After a while i was like well shit if you're gonna do it then go ahead and fuckin do it. Stop talking about it because i'm tired of hearing about it. When people ask and dont do it, it's a cry for help. Do they really want help? Do they just want attention? Do they enjoy the depressed state that they live in? Some people feed off of that depressing shit but wont do it. Cant really say it's not worth is cause we dont know what happens on the other side. It could totally be worth it! My advise is try to work out whatever problems you have because life is tough and but you should never quit. If you are gonna do it tho, dont fake it - make sure you do it right.

May sound crazy but thats just my take on it.

It's generally said that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If you wanted to kill yourself who the fuck am I to tell you not to? It's a decision I feel someone is capable to make on their own accord but often made, unfortunately, in haste without weighing out all the variables and impacts you'll have on other people's lives. I tend to agree more with assisted suicide on ones own terms for the purpose of aleviation of pain and to go out in dignity in the presence of loved ones, but again, its not my call to tell people what to or not to do to themselves. That is the ultimate freedom we should have. Control over ourselves. Anything less is a tyranny put in practice by a way to paternalistic or moralistic gov't or other authoritative body imo. It's not the gov'ts job to regulate morality or be my father figure.

That is bullshit. Suicide is not an easy thing to do. It takes a lot to come to the self realization that you want to die and intend to end your life. It's not a decision that should be taken lightly.

Ok, I just got sidetracked. My point is that if all the people who attempted suicide were institutionalized there wouldn't be very many of us walking around. I'm sure a large portion of people on this board have a family member or know someone that has committed suicide and an even larger portion have known someone who at least tried in a cry for help by taking too many pills or slitting their wrists, etc. It's probably also a safe bet that there are more than a few members of this board have attempted suicide themselves. The numbers aren't pretty and are pretty telling.

That being said, you have to be absolutely certain that it's the correct answer for you. If you're not sure, then stick it out and figure it out.



I had figured it out. I wasn't sad, I wasn't scared, I didn't have money problems.... I was just tired of life and felt there wasn't much to it. I had plateaued long before and never felt any different for years. I just didn't want to do it anymore, simple as that.

However, big changes hit me in July of 2004. Now I'm sitting here in bed with my gf and we're expecting to have our first child in July of 2005.

It turns it that it wasn't the right answer for me.... this is. And I'm happy for it.
