Cashing US Checks in the Netherlands

I am getting kinda tired of paying 10$$ per check, plus provision up here.

I mean, I understand the provision part, but 10$ PER check. I have a bundle of checks here I tried to cash today, but it would cost me over 100$, just to get the money.
That does suck, where do my fellow country-(wo)men cash their check?
Postbank -> 21.60 PER check plus provision
ABNAMRO -> 20 PER check plus provision

I heard Rabo only charges you PER bundle of checks, is that right?
I hate 'giving' the bank couple a hundred bucks each fucking month, just for getting my money.

Naughty, you could ask your sponsors to block any checks until you've reached a certain amount; this could save you a couple of bucks.

I know, I did that months ago
But still... it sucks ass.

CCBill doesn't listen to my requests though, I get small checks from them every time, maybe we have to 'do' better and make sure we receive a shitload of cash each period
I'd like to set the minmum to 200$

Numlock here from Joure The Netherlands :-)

the Rabobank does not do bundles anymore since I'm a customer ;-)

It's ?7 (euro) per cheque.
As far as I know this is the cheapest way.

I asked CCBill to change two different accounts of mine to monthly payout. Less bank fees plus it's nice to get one large check at the end of each month. Let's see if they do it...

My bank charges $10 per check also. That's $10 for pressing a few buttons. FUCK! It's even better than the porn biz. Not for much longer 'cause I'm leaving those fuckers, heheh.

I think that in your programme should be option about min. amount for check to be sent.
Bank provision is present in every bank on the world so you won't find any bank with no provision at all.
How long you have to wait to cash the check.

What bank you are using?

Maby you should try oko-bank
They took last year 60FM (about 10 euros)/per check

I haven´t cashed any checks in euro time yet but i bet oko is still cheaper than Nordea or what ever you are using

In Australia it only costs me US$2.50 to cash each cheque which isn't too bad.

What happens if you have a $10 check to cash ??? Do you have to give the bank your check, plus give them another $10 out of your own pocket ???

Got the same problem. But I found a way to fix the problems with cheques.
Instead of posting 30 messages on this board I work and this way I'm able to get cheques every week that are at least $300.. and uh.. I just pay ?9 per cheque so ;-)
Most sponsors allow the set the min payout to another value. Make sure it's set to $100+
For CCBill it's not as easy but if you send them a FAX (no emails because they need a signature) they can also change the payout period.
Best way to solve things is to OR make enough or to let them pay ya once a month

I've set a minimum payout at ccbill, just contact there staff.

Get an account in the US. Banks with branches in the US (ABN, ING) might be able to set you up with one. I cache US checks for free... It costs about 5 euro to mail the checks to the US. So far in the past 4 years I never had checks lost in the mail...

Hun.. thanks for that advice. I contact my bank asap. Are these cheques on your name or do they have to be on the name of some bankguy (the one who's inning the cheques in the US?)

$5 to send them is definitly an serious option!!

Yea, me too... though it's unlikely. ? is cool though I'd love to be paid in £s!

At least that way, those greasy bent fucks at American Express can't demand a huge fee.

Joe, you open an account in your name, so checks should be in your name as well. I have an account in my personal name, I sign a check made out to "the hun's yellow pages" with my own name (on the endorsement on the back) and signature, never heard a question about that one...
