Diary of opening a paysite

Time for an update I think.

We are going strong still there and up to 300 active members (297 to be totally truthful) and adding anything from 0 to 12 a day.

I've got one of the webmasters submitting galleries, Chameleon and hand submitting to Partner Accounts. We get accepted all the time. Why people buy bad content to submit to TGP sites I do not understand.

http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/tgps/1809al/index.html

http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/tgps/1602lgt/ws.html

http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/tgps/1622rx/al4a.html

http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/tgps/1715tl/ws.html

http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/tgps/1702aj/al4a.html

Next is more paid spots, we just need to work out an effective way of tracking where sign ups come from. Page visits are easy sign ups are the thing. The guy doing the submitting is one of our programmers and has other things to do as well. Soon I think we will take on a full time submitter. Who will also look after affiliates.

We have affiliates submitting for us and getting more all the time. The concern and I'm not sure if it should be, is the ratio they achieve as a group and some achieve individually.

I can only guestimate our ratios, because until we get an effective tracking program I'm in the dark, but it was under 1:200. The best two affiliates are beating that, but the rest are not. One guy sent 1,600+ visits (according to CCBILL stats) and has yet to make a sign up. So this side needs working on.

We will also be looking to exchange links with other sites either here http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/link...to our friends or inside the site on a revolving banner system, these are earning us money. LOL

I think the one problem we have is time, I'm the only guy in the company with the experience and knowledge of what to do, be it I'm a novice at this, and I have other jobs to do. Finding good support people is a nightmare.

A Pondlife contacted me recently asking if I knew of anyone who can do some programming and we gave him some jobs to do. Finding a designer who can build the tour I want is tough, as is getting a text writer. They contact me and disappear.

Finding content provider with a half way decent teen hardcore product that fits our style is a nightmare. Learning why we are so successful.

This is the problem. This design was done for me and I'm left to spend hours getting it right, putting in the pictures and doing the text.

http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/tgps/1779kk/

Still working on it. So comments welcome.

I have a contact that I think knows what to do and has some guys to provide the labour, so time will tell.

I love doing this, need the challenge and want to learn, but finding someone who can deliver the finished article is a nightmare and as we are about to announce the FHG facility we need good galleries.

So to date making money and surprised where we are for the amount of work we put into it. Got areas we need to improve and no doubt will do in the future.

Your content and galleries look great! Photos are very clean and crisp, I like 'em a lot. Your ads on your gallery link to http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/paul-markham-teens.php which leads to http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/freetour/tour3.htm once anything is clicked. The theme and vibe I get from both pages are completely different. You could probably seperate the two pages and create two completely seperate tours. I also agree with the join page being a little confusing for the average surfer. You look like you're off to a good start though, just thought I'd add my

Please fill here all information needed for successful registration.
1. Pay via CCBill

2. Or select another type of payment processor

---------------

Most surfers dont know what ccbill is , nor will they understand what a payment processor is..

I would just have regular signup page with a link to "if you are having trouble using the signup form , try signing up here "

Just my opinion though .. there might be a reason its that way im unaware

Yes very true about the tour. We bought one in that simply did not work so went out again. This one works better and does what I wanted in terms of content, however being a designer she had to "DESIGN" and came up with this. It does convert but could do better.

This is something I'm working on myself. http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/pornteensite/ needs work on the text but I think it could do nicely. I do not intend going the cookie cutter route, no matter how good they are there are too many of them and the surfer ignores them. Different is good.

Now you see this is where I disagree and the figures I have show it.

We - as an industry - are no longer selling to first time buyers, those days were 2 - 3 years ago. We sell to a repeat buyer, would love a processor rep with the figures to verify or correct this, according to discussions with CCBILL and MVC.

Simply the enormous growth days of the Adult Net are behind us and now we hace to accept this sign up was a member elsewhere last month.

When we kicked off the site we only had MVC, CCBILL were dragging their feet, and though an excellent company for content stores sign ups were few for the paysite. The day we got CCBILL working sign ups trebled, 90% of sign ups to the paysite are via CCBILL.

But the Sign up page is wrong and I will wotk on it.

Remember everything I write about porn is based on 28 years shooting it. Everything I write about paysites is based on 4 months running a paysite.

Glad to hear it's working, but like anything could benefit from a little improvement. The tour you just posted has a very easy navigation structure, and the way the content is showcased says "this is what we offer, we have nothing to hide". Good stuff.

Yes I think this tour will work, amateur yet truthful. It needs me to do a days work for the design/layout and a couple of days on the text.

Probably an experienced guy could do in a couple of hours.

I totally get where your coming from but you could kill two birds with one stone without confusing the newbies to porn.. Like you can def still use ccbill and the link , just not quite the way its setup..

Example. if i was a surfer i was confused as if i should fill out the form then click the ccbill button , then i would have to fill it out again, or cancel because i wasnt sure my info was made.

Like i said though im speaking from a total surfer standpoint because i dont own a paysite , so you may know a bit more about this than me

then maybe another solution, since you want to have it known that you use ccbill on the join page do this..

instead of

Pay via CCBill

you can have it as

Sign up with Visa (via CCBill)
Sign up with Mastercard (via CCBill)
Pay by phone (via CCBill)

think that way.. it appeals to both the veteran porn buyer and first time buyer.... because if its someones first time buying a membership... you will probably lose them at "pay via ccbill" since they wont know what it is...

just my

Yes it could be made simpler and I promise it will be dome Monday. Was just making a point about Newbies and Oldies when it comes to memberships.
