Don't bother. After your antics today, I would anticipate more damage.

7" inch long crack is too big for a resin repair. time to replace.
usually once it goes beyond 3/4" inch you've lost the windshield.

this is why bullseye and stone chips must be repaired immediately, especially high dollar import cars.

check your insurance, here in Florida, Florida Statute 627.7288 states that the deductible shall not apply to windshield damages.

maybe the same for you

I hate to sound silly, but what kind of place would fix a stone chip? I got one traveling through Texas one time. I would see tons of places to fix them in Texas but none in California, wierd. Maybe because we can't get to speeds over 20mph due to all the traffic.

if the damage is very small you can usually buy the kit and do it yourself---check auto parts places, or walmart---maybe the kit is 10-15 bucks.

every auto windshield place i know of does this repair for about 50 bucks.

the problem is this---even a small rock chip will usually develop into an unrepairable crack due to windshield flexing unless you get the initial nick fixed promptly.

moral of the story: don't drive the mercedes close behind the gravel truck
