The greatest company On earth... a must Read.

So for the past week I haven't been able to type well because I had to use a new keyboard... the one on my laptop just crapped out on me.
SO I called Dell and they said they'd have a guy here in 24hrs. I thought "great"

Well 24hrs later I get a call from the receptionist that I have a package. In it is my new Keyboard, an instruction booklet (with hand written notes no less !)
a screwdriver and a black pick to pull the keyboard out with and not hurt my fingers doing it by hand.

It took me 5 min total, I felt like i accomplished something and It works better than the original one !
Best of all it had a note on blue paper appologizing for not being able to come do it themselves and thanking me for choosing Dell.

I now completely support this company. Mr. Dell hit me up

For $100 they earned a customer for life who will tell 2000 webmasters about it. I think it's worth it, isn't it?

It's amazing how just a LITTLE gesture can return huge dividends.

I'm not a Dell fan personally though.

You know they actually cheaped out, they were supposed to do onsite service where they come in and do the fixing for you. Still good service but they were supposed to do everything for you.

I bought a PC, after a while I reformat it and I realize it came with no drivers, I had to go to my laptop and download them from Dell.com, make a CD, etc.

YOu know what you're right... but What I appreciate is them not making me wait long... and it really wasn't that big a deal.. .if I hire a maid to clean my house and laundry and instead she dry cleans the laundry it's still accomplished.

Mr Dell COntact me .

If this was a business computer that was broken, they better do it within 1 business day or I'd be furious at dell for making me have employee downtime. If they couldn't be there within a day, then I'd rather go and buy the replacement part at a local store than paying staff salaries while they can't work.

well I just thought I'd share a good experience.
WG you're right though... I lied and said I was Dave and that "my number one employee can't work because of this i need this asap"

so they did just that.
