In a way it can be seen as the same thing but when it comes to surfer forums it's the forum owners profiting and doesn't benefit the copyright holders at all. On GFY, it's free advertising for the programs that own the content and no harm is being done. When I post images that are copyrighted I let people know where they came from and who owns them. Such as my image manipulation thread. Occasionaly I forget to do so but all in all, everyone knows that I am not trying to rip anyone off and not trying to profit from using their content. By your definition and choices of words fusker sites should be allowed to breach copyright laws just because GFY members post pictures. |
