so just because the big guys do it it's ok for you to do it or it makes it alright to do it?

Stile, somethingawefull, CJ etc have all had their fare share of criticism for content theft. What makes it different for you?

If you own a forum where people hotlink or post copyrighted images missing their respective ads then you fall into the same category as them and just as wrong as them.

For the sake of the discussion. There's not very many here who post their own paid content. The content producers post their own content, that's fine.
Every day there's like 100 threads with pics from random galleries found at The Hun or some orher place. Then we have *******, Goatse or random OWNED pics, do the people posting them have permission to do that?

I couldn't agree more. I delete questionable content when it is reported. JPF is just trying to start drama- and nothing more.

Actually there is a difference. You make profit from allowing surfers to post copyrighted images when you runa forumt hat allows people to either hotlink or plain jane post them.

On gfy, nobody make money from copyrighted image being posted and if webmasters liek teh content they can read the watermark url and go sign up to promote it.

In a way it can be seen as the same thing but when it comes to surfer forums it's the forum owners profiting and doesn't benefit the copyright holders at all. On GFY, it's free advertising for the programs that own the content and no harm is being done.

When I post images that are copyrighted I let people know where they came from and who owns them. Such as my image manipulation thread. Occasionaly I forget to do so but all in all, everyone knows that I am not trying to rip anyone off and not trying to profit from using their content.

By your definition and choices of words fusker sites should be allowed to breach copyright laws just because GFY members post pictures.
