I wouldn't call them marketing geniuses... they just have the worlds largest advertising budget and they waste it on all the stupid shit no one else has the balls to touch

Their genius lies in that they are using an amazingly *small* budget, for a huge amount of publicity. The comment about a high budget and wastefulness seems completely wrong, at least in reference to their eBay purchases. Godaddy shelled out $2.4 million for their 30 second superbowl ad, plus probably another several hundred thousand to produce the commercial. They got some press in addition to the commercial exposure itself, and it's kind of a status symbol to have advertised in the superbowl, but Golden Palace is spending $15k here and $30k there buying crap like grilled cheese sandwiches and used implants off ebay, and they get their name mentioned in over 10,000 newspapers worldwide, mentioned on most major news and entertainment-news shows on both tv and radio, in latenight comedy monologues, and discussed at the water cooler. That is so far from being "wasted money." I seem to recall someone reposted the grilled cheese story on GFY, yet again, about a week ago.

I would agree they are smart. Think about the lady with the Grilled Cheese that looked like Virgin Mary. How many times did you see on the news her being interviewed after the purchase? Did you also notice that everytime she was interviewed she was wearing a GoldenPalaceCasino.com t-shirt? You can't buy airtime on TV for $25,000 not with the exposure that they got from that.

Keep one thing in mind... in the online casino industry, branding and trust are two VERY important things. Surfers are always worried that they will be ripped off by a fly by night casino. So when they constantly hear about Goldenpalace on the news, when they hit the site, it is a familiar name and company. This makes them feel much more at ease when taking out their credit card and gambling online. this is why they convert as well as they do- reputation, brand recognition and top of mind awareness.

I use 2 play Slots years ago at Golden Palace pretty good online casino. Just one other online casino I liked better.

JSA MATT you have no idea what you are talking about. Their marketing plan is a lot more detailed than you might think. See its not very easy to brand your name to people who gamble. Think about it. Do you ever see ads at casinos for online casinos? NO! Can they advertise in the newspaper or on TV? No! Will any horse tracks, sports betting or ANY type of casino in this world let them advertise? Probably not. They get more advertising than any casino in Las Vegas but on a lot smaller budget. So how are they wasting it on stupid shit when there really is no other major outlet for them. Its very hard to brand any casino without some form of publicity.

Golden Palace is going after the people that gamble. They get there website on front pages of every major newspaper. Does any casino you know of do that? Probably not! So being a business man yourself my question to you Matt is this... If you had an online casino and a major budget how whould you brand your name and stand out from the rest? Thats what i thought. Don't talk shit about something you know nothing about.
