The CBC is however run by the Canadian government, and they don't tell the truth either I'm afraid.

I love the sort of arrogant Canadians who do nothing but complain about arrogant Americans, while they are no angels either.

You guys better stop worrying about our government and worry about your own.

Ann Coulter Biography

Ann Coulter is the author of three books, all New York Times best sellers -- Treason: Liberal Treachery From the Cold War to the War on Terrorism (June 2003); Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right (June 2002); and High Crimes and Misdemeanors:The Case Against Bill Clinton (August 1998). Her next book will be released this fall.

Coulter is the legal correspondent for Human Events and writes a popular syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate. She is a frequent guest on many TV shows, including Hannity and Colmes, Wolf Blitzer Reports, At Large With Geraldo Rivera, Scarborough Country, HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, The O'Reilly Factor, Good Morning America and has been profiled in numerous publications, including TV Guide, the Guardian (UK), the New York Observer, National Journal, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle magazine, among others. She was named one of the top 100 Public Intellectuals by federal judge Richard Posner in 2001.

Coulter clerked for the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and was an attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for outstanding law school graduates.

After practicing law in private practice in New York City, Coulter worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she handled crime and immigration issues for Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan. From there, she became a litigator with the Center For Individual Rights in Washington, DC, a public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, civil rights, and the free exercise of religion.

A Connecticut native, Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review.

Stuart Smiley Biography (excerpt)

Franken also wrote and starred in "Stuart Saves His Family," a 1995 Paramount Picture based on his SNL character. Directed by Harold Ramis and co-starring Laura-San Giacomo and Vincent D'Onofrio, the movie received strong reviews but never clicked with audiences, generating only a million dollars in box office revenue.

One of these people is qualified to give you intelligent inoformation, the other isn't.

Sigmund Freud was an MD that had published several books. He is the most referenced author in history and his work influenced literature and clinical psychological care for decades.

Freud's work has been shown to be garbage and is illegal to be taught in an accredited university in the first world (outside of historical context).

Being published, referenced, or even educated does not make you immune to being a fool or in the case of Anne Coulter a propagandist.

There's a difference between funding and controlling. The Canadian government funds the CBC, but they don't control it. The American government controls the US media, but they don't fund it.

CBC is about as close to an honest, truthful news network as you'll find anywhere in the world. I know a lot of American intellectuals who would love to get CBC Newsworld.

I agree that Canadians who worry about America should also be worried about our own government. There was an almost complete blackout of our involvement in the coup in Haiti.

You might want to review why CBC pulled Terry Milewski from covering the Apec scandal at the request of the PMO. The CBC isn't perfect but is certainly better than FOX News. Most mainstream news suck because they are public entities responsible to their shareholders rather than journalism. It's a shame really.

You guys are really getting the wool pulled over your eyes. The Canadian government is just as, if not even more corrupt then the U.S. government, the difference is nobody pays attention and the U.S. acts as a scapegoat to always take attention off of Canada.

What do you think is worse, the U.S. invading Iraq and being honest about it, or the fact that Canada has/was/and is sending troops to Iraq and lying to its people about it?

I'd rather the devil I know than the devil in secret any day of the week.

I may totally disagree with the U.S. action in Iraq, but I disagree with the Canadian governemnt lying about their involvement even more.

Rich 03-02-2005 04:53 PM

What has been the secret Canadian action in Iraq?

What talking points have I ever "spewed" that have come from an entertainer?

Don't you see how pathetic it is that you have to attack the messenger? We're talking about complete lies coming from a respected republican commentator, and all you can do is start insulting Al Franken? And for what, having talent? Who the fuck cares about God damn Al Franken? He doesn't go on TV and lie about things like this, he's a fucking comedian.

The truth is the truth, all your tough right wing talk can't hide that to people paying attention and using their own brain. Next time, instead of knowing which side you're going to be on before you hear the issue, think about it yourself for 10 minutes. Use things like logic and reasoning, and come to your own conclusions. You're just wrapped up in this bubble of nonsense, I think you just need to give your head a shake.

Well I know people in the Canadian army, and they haven't been shipped to Iraq. I've also never heard a single report of a Canadian soldier over there. I'm not saying I wouldn't believe it, I'm certainly not blind to some of the illegal actions of my own government, but I have not seen any evidence of that.

Pay attention you idiot. Its just like a dumbass liberal to attempt to make themselves feel superior by calling the other side stupid. It doesn't help your cause. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I am more qualified to discuss politics than you.

Al franken is the savior of the democratic party. I think they have a small radio show that has been bailed out of bankruptcy a few times. Someone google "airamerica". Someone look back at the thread to see where this dumbass rich jumped into one of my conversations (univited) where the topic became al franken.

I simply made a very good point. Liberals get their info from unqualified people . Thats a well documented example.

Attack the messenger? What were you doing when you jumped in? Whats the title of this thread?

NetRodent 03-02-2005 05:17 PM

The Canadian government did not send troops but over 30,000 Canadians served in the armed forces (mainly US) in Vietnam.

Its all here in this CBC link:

This is not a war against Iraq, Muslims, or Terrorists. It is a war against Europe, and more specifically the Euro.

OTTAWA - Ottawa now admits that some Canadian soldiers are in Iraq, even though Canada refused to join the U.S.-led war against Saddam Hussein.

Thirty-one Canadians are with U.S. and British troops in the Gulf as part of a military exchange, and a British army officer told CBC News that some of the Canadians are in combat.

But the prime minister continues to deny any Canadians are directly involved in the fighting.

------------------------

Canadian troops may be deployed to Iraq to help with reconstruction if Prime Minister Paul Martin agrees to the anticipated request from U.S. President George Bush.

The two leaders are expected to discuss the issue when they meet later this month in Brussels for a NATO summit meeting, the Toronto Star reported.

The paper says a small contingent of 40 Canadian troops would be sent abroad, joining another 300 NATO forces, if Martin agrees.

You're right, people who are entertainers, especailly actors, are the worst fuckers when they think they know something about politics. They should stay the fuck out of it!

I mean, look at that idiot Ronald Reagan for example.

Your saying that some people do not have any right to speak about political issues because they do not have the political experience.

If that is the case then what are you doing discussing political issues with no political background?

You think Ann coulter would stand up for you? To her, Rush and every other right-wing racist in the world your nothing more than a useless smut peddler, and thats likely all you'll ever be. They would sooner see you on the bottom of their shoes than know you even exist.

Be honest and you can help prove my point. Did you, or do you think most liberals knew Ann Coulter's experience?

I'm willing to bet that most have just been told she is a hack and a racists. The big problem I was touching on was the fact that most democrats are getting their info from bad sources.

Do you think most democrats realize that the current administration has appointed more minorities to higher positions than any previous administration during the same time that liberals call them right-wing racists?
Do you think they know that more minorites voted republican than ever before?

As far as being a smut peddler, I have one thing to say about that. I know the issues. You have to wiegh the issues to figure out which one is more important.

If you are like me, you are a small business. As a business, you should be extremely worried about the democratic agenda. To me, the potental harm is far worse than anything that could happen to the internet porn industry from either industry.

OH yea, Now Ronald Reagan. He was a democrat when he was an actor. About the time the country changed and made the deomcrat party irrelevent, he became a republican.

?I Didn?t Leave The Democratic Party, The Democratic Party Left Me?

I realize you won't be able to understand this but... the people you're talking about, very few people get information from them, they're what we call entertainers. The make fun of stupid people who believe stupid things. People like Rush Limaugh and Ann Coulter call themselves journalists, and people actually look to them for information.

Attacking the message. See the difference? You're attacking the person, I'm attack what the person is saying. I don't see how I can explain it any better. She said Canada sent troops to Vietnam. That's a lie, the kind of lie she spreads every day, but doesn't get called out for on Fox. They would have let her say that. Why? The more educated a person is, the more likely they were to vote Democrat in 2004.

Kerry split the college-educated as a whole evenly with Bush, just as Gore did in 2000, and actually carried those with a postgraduate education by 11 points (55 percent to 44 percent).

Ignorant voters are more likely to vote Republican. And more likely to support Bush on GFY. :1orglaugh
