looking for a designer familiar with WordPress
Hi,
I'm looking for a designer familiar with the WordPress v1.5 blogging software. I need a custom template designed including logo, layout, stylesheets, etc... and integration. To avoid waisting either ones time, I need someone that already knows and has done a template/style integration in wordpress. Please post samples of your work and portfolio and your contact info so I can get in touch. You can also catch me on ICQ: 155193202 Thanks! |

If you don't get any hits on here, try http://www.rentacoder.com
Search on wordpress - you should see a number of deals. Rent a coder rocks - it's just a little slow to communicate with your coder sometimes.. |

If you want to only change the colors, etc, it's just simple CSS.
If you want to change the layouts, it's somewhat advanced CSS and design. If you want to change the functionality of WordPress, there's a lot of detail to go into. There are many ways to change the navigation, for example. This involves some basic PHP programming skills and a good understanding of how Wordpress handles things internally. There are a ton of variables that are available to use that deal with things like relative and absolute urls, adding categories to your main page layout, things along those lines. I was going to do some blogs, but decided to go with portals instead. Using Xoops or Mambo, you can incorporate a number of popular blogs, in addition to tons of other modules, like forums, personal ads, classifieds, photogalleries; there's almost no end to add-on functionality. |

fusionx, you seem to have studdied this issue pretty well ;) As far as I'm concerned I don't need to change the functionality of wordpress; just a nice custom template integrating the appropriate tags.
brujah, elance is the top of the line freelance marketplace and I don't think anything compares to it quality wise. They are pretty selective and their high pricing discourages the less serious providers from participating. The only "negative" is that they have driven prices higher and so its difficult to find cheap deals on elance. Which is why sites like scriptlance of rentacoder are able to coexist, providing a much cheaper alternative, with all the drawbacks that come with that. I find there are still good programmers on those second tier services, but they are just much harder to find as a buyer, and generally lack the professionalism of those on elance. |

check out huny at http://www.phattygirl.com
she has done a lot of blog designs over the years mostly mainstream, but she also does adult designs so I know she wouldn't object to doing an adult blog. I'm not sure which blog software she's working with now, but i do know she has worked with a few different ones WordPress may very well be one of them, If you contact her be sure to drop my name, she always takes extra good care of people that I recommend to her. |

About the time I get my brain trained for portals, something new with a completely different concept will come out.. I'm really happy there are soo many good tools out there now. With a handfull of different blog packages, a good portal CMS, some kind of photogallery package and some search/indexing utils, you can do almost anything in a matter of days, as opposed to builidng it from scratch for 6 - 8 months.. 90% of it is open source, as well ![]() Check out xoops and mambo - people are cranking out new modules for them all the time. |

This shouldn't be any different than getting a design setup for a TGP using Comus or AutoGallery scripts. I'm trying out Mambo on a new site as someone else mentioned. Mambo looks good so far. |
