Actually, I've seen a few posts from Rat that are surprisingly helpful to others, and this in spite of the fact that he's gone out of his way to dis everyone that "flocks to these webmaster bbs's like sheep". He's really quite knowledgeable about quite a few aspects of webmastering and things such has fitness and exercise.

Rat, you've got a heart under all that dumbass, no question. It's just that for some reason unbeknownst to me, possibly your dad didn't kick your ass enough as a child or perhaps you had a strong mommy that whooped your ass too much, I don't know, but you just don't have a clue how important respect is to being a man. You have no respect for anyone, and that's your burden in life. Feel sorry for me all you want, I'm not even 40 and I'm retired from working a J_O_B forever, and I enjoy life, period. I don't sense much joy in your life in spite of any successes you may have going, and that is a shame, something to truly be pitied.

There's hope yet for you Rat, I'm sure we could learn a lot from each other, no question. But unfortunately the thing holding you back from making good solid business connections and reliable friendships with honest guys like me is your own attitude and how you treat others. Hey, I too can be rather heavy-handed when I'm sensing ignorance or stupidity in others, I'll be the first to admit that, but you take it to a new level altogether.

Time to maybe shut up and think about it bro. The one big advantage for you with having your business online is anonymity, but when that goes I hazard a guess that things will go downhill for you quickly...unless of course you wise up and start acting like a human.

Stop judging people in that condescending "everyone can fuck off" attitude you have, get over your past shit (mommy, daddy etc) and you'll soon start earning some real respect. Your choice mate, but right now I'm pretty sure you're nothing but the big joke you think everyone else here is.

Now, why not be unpredictable for once in your life and say something productive?

Trust me, he's read this or he will eventually. Rat loves me, he can't stay away from me, he can't stand to let me have the last word on anything, he's like a bitchy old housematron that way.

But I could care less if he answers or not. The truth is the truth, acknowledged or not.

You call it a burden, I call it a blessing. You are right, I have no respect for anyone. Esp some newbie on a message board spouting off horseshit. The same goes for "real life". Respect is earned, not given away.

Seriously? What do I have to be sad about? Im young, debt free, make more money than I should in smut, an education, and freakishly hot girlfriend. Some days I wake up and cant believe the situation I am in.

Just because I hate people doesn't mean I am not an otherwise happy individual. The only way I could possibly be any happier is if I was given a license to go out in public and execute hippies, fratboys, and women.

Well thank you, I strive for success in everything I do.

I believe in another post you said if anyone ever found out what sites I run that it would be business suicide, and now you say I need connections. In the 4 years I have been doing this I can name all the people I have done close business with on one hand. If there is one thing you do not do in this business is make these stupid fucking alliances / partnership you see all these fucking idiots doing constantly. They always end in failure.

My sites are completely self sufficient and require no help from anyone else. I generate my own traffic, my own feeder sites, I have a producer doing my content, and I run all my paysites. I rely on nobody.

You know why you will never know what sites I run? Because I have found a successful business model, something you board congregating mongoloids search for on a daily basis. The absolute last thing I am going to do is let a large group of tgp kiddies get a piece. You people have no innovation and all you do is copy others models. One person comes up with one good idea and the rest of you run it into the fucking dirt. Just look at the current state of the industry. You people deserve no respect, you deserve the opposite.

Wrong, I do business with nobody on this board. Probably never will. What could anyone on this board possibly have to offer me? I dont need your shitty traffic, and I dont need any galleries made.

The sooner you tgp kiddies get the hint that you will make no money and have to go back to your day jobs the better off everyone will be.

Quote:

I dont want or need anyone from GFY's respect. You have severely mistaken me for someone who gives a shit.

Quote:

Again, and this is getting very redundant, let it sink in this time...

I do not care what anyone on this board thinks of me. I seriously dont know how to emphasize this enough to you. The opinions on the board regarding me and or 90% of the topics discussed here are a fucking joke.

Its a bunch of newbs stroking each others cocks, measuring their success by what tgp they got their fucking gallery listed on and counter stats. Its mind numbing. You people have no fucking clue.

Looks like you cared to enough to write a novel in comments back to CD...so I would say your contradicting yourself..not mention you keep showing up time and time again..and posting to boot..so I would say there is some need to feel accepted going on here..

Dear Whiny Little Bitch,

I dont know how many words a minute you can type, but that took about 3 minutes out of my day.

Fade Fade Fade, always sticking his nose in. If anyone is looking for acceptance, it is you.

Me and CD have a love hate relationship, I always take time out of my hectic day of drinking and masturbating to reply to him, as he always does the same for me.

As for showing up time and time again, I will admit this tardfest has a tendency to grow on you. Netponds crowd is too old and cranky, YNOT is for geriatrics and goody goodies, AWI is GFY with more foreigners, Oprano just sucks...

And despite what CD thinks, I do like some people on here. Amp is always good for making me laugh at 3 am, Gary is classic, Ludedude and R3K are quite personalble. Not that they remotely care what I think, but I do derive some enjoyment from GFY. Whether it be berating a stupid newbie, making a Canadian cry, or watching some stupid newbie scandal unravel... maybe I am a masochist.

Also, this took me about a minute and a half to type, so dont think I wasted more time on you than is absolutely necessary.

How is your mom?

Okay, point taken on your "self-sufficient" business model. I learned more about you in this one single post than all the others combined. Appreciated.

Rat spake thusly: Respect is earned, not given away.

That's exactly what I said to you in the first place. Seeing as how you are now indicating that you understand this concept, I will assume that I am right that there is some small hope yet for you. I wasn't talking about respect between you and everyone on this board because I agree with you that there are a lot of folks here that I could really care less whether or not they respect me or anyone. My comments represented myself only.

You then saideth: Seriously? What do I have to be sad about?

Again, my comments weren't so much to do with all the blessings in your life as they were an observance on your overall demeanor towards others, especially your peers (webmasters, like myself). Your lifestyle may be elevated beyond the norm, but the pissy attitude speaks volumes about how happy one is on the inside. This is not unlike the supermodel who, although has the looks, money and fame, is always sneering down her nose at others with her arrogance and hatred, thinking she is superior to everyone. "Inner dry-rot of the soul" as it were (no pun towards soul_rubble).

As for your comments on alliances and partnerships, I think you missed my point, but not entirely. Partnerships such as partnering up on a website and dividing the profits for example is something I've never had any interest in doing. Why start a partnership site when I can design and run 50 of my own sites? So we're in agreement as far as being master of your own domain, but I firmly believe that networking and building good relationships with others can be quite lucrative and rewarding.

As for your business model being secret, that is fine too, but know this: I too have a business model, one that has gotten me free of my former job of 15 years of slaving away at a local hospital, to a life of working on my own time on my own terms from home, and all this in the face of having an extremely painful back injury in 97 and starting off with no computer knowledge of any kind. This is no less deserving of respect than any of your accomplishments, indeed.

My business model is just as, if not more, diverse than yours from the sounds of it. I do my own photography, produce my own modelling content, I have a fairly sizeable buyer in Europe that pays me a nice sum of money on a monthly basis for it, I also do freelance work for a local movie producer such as referring talent and site design/promotion. I own rental property here in Winnipeg that pays me ongoing monthy revenues. Then there is all the sites I've designed for other businesses and local bands/singers etc, plus graphic design services to other webmasters, and let's not forget my non-adult sites. This is only the beginning of where I find my income from, and it is highly amusing to me to hear such uninformed remarks from you where you are declaring your superiority over me in so may aspects. Btw, running a tgp and/or building-submitting galleries is something I enjoy doing for some extra traffic and cash only. I'm growing tired of trying to open your mind up to the fact that not everyone here reads like a book, but I'm certainly used to being underestimated, no surprise there.

And, where you and others keep chirping that tgp traffic is so crappy, I'm looking at my overall stats for November and I see that I'm 1:270 with that traffic, and I've had a very good month income-wise from it. Again, you may be spot-on in your opinions of many webmasters, but I rarely fit into such generalities.

You have severely mistaken me for someone who gives a shit.

Hardly. I chuckle at your remark, and I can assure you I knew exactly what you'd come back here and say before I wrote my comments. But there's a difference between not caring what others think and interacting with others with respect. A big difference. Eg. I could care less what any given webmaster here thinks of me, but I treat most of them with respect. I at the very least give what I get, good or bad.

At least I can thank you for putting your usual punkification aside and speaking frankly and from the heart (I knew you had one). I agree with much of what you said here and on other threads, surprising as that may be. What irks me though is when someone makes bold statements about me that are born out of ignorance and not based in fact and insight. Such statements tend to be aimed at tearing down rather than being constructive, and I rarely tolerate such ignorance. My responses are not so much to sway your opinion as they are to prevent others from buying into a foolish notion that I am anything but what I am.

Having said all that, I'd like to add that it seems like you have a fairly tight operation going Rat. I wonder, what business strategies are you thinking of using for "future damage control".... ie - should the state of the internet become incondusive to running adult pay sites, what will you have to fall back on? Possibly the friendships based on respect that I mentioned earlier could be of great benefit in that area? I just find that everywhere on the net that I explore reveals ways of making money and generating ongoing revenue, and networking with other reliable people can't be all that repulsive a concept for you... can it?

that's it guys, J. Bezos wants both of you to write a Christmas book for kids that amazon.com is going to sell the upcoming days! You're doing great, we need about 5 times more of what you have already written. Speed up! I'm reffering to you CD since Labret needs 1min/page to type, so he won't need more than 10min to finish his part. Labret will write the words of the evil witch and CD will handle the good heroe of the story. Damn, it will be a lovely book!

Well, I've always seen a lot in common between CD and Labret although neither one of them will ever admit to it.

Both of them are some of the obviously better educated members of this board and i always find amusement in their comments.

For the record, Labret, I like you too
but not the way 12clicks would say it LOL

I do not regard people on GFY as my peers.

As for my demeanor towards others, I dont like people. Or at least 98% of people. People are largely cattle, their herd mentality governing their way thru life one blind step at a time. They are not to be trusted, nor respected, and in general I can do without them. I do not go out of my way to murder them in the manner that I would like to, but instead 99% of the time I simply ignore them.

Your lifestyle may be elevated beyond the norm

You are way off base. I live a very modest existence. I have a very modest house, a 25k car, and 90% of what I make is invested and or saved. I am completely debt free, no mortgage, no car payment, nothing. I have 1 credit card. By 2003 I hope to clear my first 7 figures. I guess I could be like the average GFY'er and blow my money on useless shit like an 80k car and other assorted useless bullshit, but I am not big on the penis extensions.

Know this. A vast majority of the shit I give you is just that, shit. My goal is to see how mad I can make you with one liners. You take me too serious. I know you probably work harder than the average ass monkies that pollute this board. You only assume I have no respect for you.

I basically answered this one in previous comments. I save and save and work each day in this business like the end is coming tomorrow. I do not expect porn to pan out forever, if it does... great. If it does not, I am prepared. Like I said, I have no debt and I own everything I have in its entirety. I invest, and despite my schedule I am returning to school in the winter to complete my second bachelors degree, and begin work on another masters. I also have a record label that I finance along with two other Canadian individuals. I hope to one day live entirely off money made from the label, but as long as porn makes me easy money I will stick with it.

All of this is born out of fear. Fear of a 9 to 5 job. Fear of working for someone else. Fear is my most motivating factor.

There, now you know a little too much about me.

Anthropology and sociology.

I study people. Ironic given the fact that I detest them, anthro and soc are mostly to blame for this hatred. The more I learn, the more I hate.

hehe.

I'm going back next to uni next year. I have a science degree majoring in genetics, with a minor in philosophy. There was a course called cyber phil I took back in 1996 that gave me some of the initial ideas for starting an adult paysite

Shocking news!! I was referring to the "webmaster< - - >Webmasters" connection only, nothing more. Not all here are newbs, not all here are unsuccessful, and some of us do know what the fuck we are doing with regard to generating good incomes.

Know this. A vast majority of the shit I give you is just that, shit. My goal is to see how mad I can make you {snip}

More shocking news. My heart! Old guy dying here!! For the record I've stated this to "the herd" here before about you, probably on more than one occassion, that much of what you say is designed to raise temperatures and nothing more.

Quote:

You take me too serious. I know you probably work harder than the average ass monkies that pollute this board. You only assume I have no respect for you.

Well, insulting my country and my country's war vets, and firing numerous blatent yet empty platitudes towards me was one indication, but if you say so I have no reason to disbeleive you.
Where's my hug?

I save and save and work each day in this business like the end is coming tomorrow...{snip} ...Fear is my most motivating factor.

That is exactly why diversity rules in "all things that are CD" pertaining to business. Much of my income get's socked away each year in long-term high-yeild investments plus a few RSP's for good measure. I wish I had've started doing this 15 years ago, but sadly while working for others I could never afford to invest. My online business has done that for me, hopefully not "too little too late". So far so good at any rate.

There, now you know a little too much about me.

I'll let you know when it's too much information. I'm glad I got this thread started, if anything it shows that the big bad rat can be and is a human on some level. And again, for the record, in many ways I too hate people in general, I've said it in so many ways. It is people that litter up nice parks, it is people that fight and argue over stupid useless things, there are no "trailer trash" in the animal world, only humans are capeable of damaging the private property of others maliciously, only humans judge each other while ignoring their own shitty backyards etc etc etc. Stupidity abounds everywhere I look, and it's all human. Some of them are even cops.

Wrong, I've stated this in other postings to rat. I too can get in the face of stupidity, but I'm simply not so obnoxious about it and my jibes and barbs aren't so out to lunch and off-base as many of his are. If he's bullshitting that's one thing, but when you paint whole groups of people with such broad strokes like he does and leave no way to tell whether he's sincere or not, one can only assume that he was issued a larger dose of dumbass than usual.

What freehost is the bestest?

How come my iBill stats suck?

What is Boneprone and how can I join?

in short, I will fucking die before I ever apologize to any of these jerrys kids.

Labret is a punk, an asshole, a fiery fairy, and a slapnuts, but you know what, he is himself. He isnt 15 characters, Nor does he bow to the powers that be. he also is a fucking smart worker who looks at things from an angle some of you will ever see.

He may need Work on his networking but he doesn't see that as importance right now, so i say let him be. He does what he deams neccesary, and i think that is to be respected even if some of his opinions do not.

my 6 1/2 cents

the day some of you will understand what people show on boards is far from reality or far from being important will be a great day.

Do you REALLY think that ALL the people making the most money in this business come here to talk and chat with everyone?

Off course, you'll see some regulars that come here to have some fun... but they won't blow all their ideas away.

I don't know labret... never had any discussion with him, never had an prob with him...

In fact, I only started to remmember who he was the day he had his assistant post some pics of her hehe... now, that is some nice piece of skin

but seriously, you don't NEED to be open to everyone. Labret probably run his biz better than 95% of the people on this board... he probably needs no one like he said (why would he invent shit? no point) and he probably only has a close circle of people knowing what he does, because if everyone would know, then it would be out by everyone and their mothers within a few days.

and within that close circle, they all probably share good information and tips and all that most people would like to get their hands on... but this is how this business works.

Takes an idea and a concept to be profitable nowadays... need to Stick out... Can't stick out if you're part of the crowd

I really believe having no respect for him, or anyone, because he doesn't think like you, doesn't care what anyone says, or does not show his biz to you is ridiculous.

Got the upmost respect for labret after what I just read..

you're actually doing exactly what I wish to do labret...

I mean, making money... keeping it... debt free, and going to school to learn.

my ultimate plan would be to make enough to be able to run my biz in free time while most of my time would be left to read, instruct myself, and learn...

all that while I still can enjoy my life ..

You are abosolutely correct. I NEVER used message boards. I started this bullshit for some spare change in college back in 97. The only board I am aware of back then was YNOT, until Netpond sprang up.

Message boards are entirely counter productive. I understand why you hang out on them, its not like your making any money and doing anything else. Make your gallery and submit it. Whats that? 15 minutes out of your day? You'll go far.

Quote:

A newb in 97 is entirely different that a newb now. But I dont expect you to understand that. These days you have people to hold your hand and tell you every single thing you need to do to make a dollar. They give you free content, free hosting, and all the tutorials in the fucking world. Its no wonder none of you jerkoffs make any money.

There was no such thing in 97.

Shit, the fact that your on this board whining proves you can do nothing on your own.

I came from a very poor background. I worked my way thru college and racked up student loans to the tune of 80k dollars. I have spent 18 hours a day, 7 days a week for the last 4 years working on my sites and figuring out how to squeeze every penny I can out of a surfer. Some of the most successful people I know in this industry came from very poor backgrounds. We tend to value a dollar more than the average person and are more likely to bust our asses for it. Ever heard of Serge?

Dont hate just because I work harder than you. Its easy to take pot shots that way isnt it? Your failure is your own fault. Every day I hear you twats whining about how there is no money to be made, or conversions suck. Thats funny, because the small cadre of webmasters I associate with are all working on records years. Its your lack of innovation and your newb herd mentality that keeps you down. Stop posting on the boards and start paying attention asswipe. Nobody is going to hold your hand.

Quote:

GFY will be your downfall. Why hang out here and copy things that other people do?
The biggest mistake you will ever make is letting people know what is making you money. Jesus, pull your head from your ass.

All that is well and good, there are newbs that definitely have no clue as to how to properly get started, so they choose to spam or whatever. But there are certain newer people that show up from time to time that are obviously on the ball, sharp and observant, and quick to catch on to successful ways. I know lots of guys that came to me for link trades 2 years ago that had nothing going for them but hope and a rinky-dink free site (much the way I began) and now I see many of them having good success. One of the points I was trying to inject here is that it's unwise to paint large groups of people, in this case newbies, with such broad brush strokes (like saying they're all stupid or they're all useless twits etc) because the ONLY thing they all have in common is the fact that they're new. Other than that the differences are vast, but only if one has the power to notice.

And, leaving a referral link in one's signature is a wise move in my opinion as well. It's the "leave no stone unturned" philosophy at work, and for me it makes more than 15 bucks a week extra, but even if it only makes me $10 a week so what? That would cover my @home internet access and a lunch out besides, and for what? Leaving a link in my sig?

But for a guy that has only himself as his sponsor, I suppose it would look like a waste of time. One of my biggest points here would be that there is no "my way is the only right way" in webmastering folks. I got started back in Feb. of 98, not 97 like some others, and I see this a lot... Old-school webmasters looking down on the newer people. That sounds alot like a big waste of time to my way of thinking. My business plan looks greatly different from someone who went the way of running pay sites, I run only free sites. I don't have to worry about content theft, and I don't have to worry about one of my members selling his access codes to a password site either (so 100's of assholes can ream me). I simply work hard for quality traffic, and then I send that traffic where it will make me the most money, period.

People, guys like Rat here will always be around to poke you in the eye and wake you up (without revealing the secret to what you should be doing), that's what makes a webmaster forum like this so appealing, the diversity of the people. He does serve a useful purpose when he's not being overly ridiculous with his insults, he keeps us thinking.

But for someone who professes a flair for cutting through the BS and getting to the meat of the matter -- "squeezing all the money I can out of surfers" -- I see a whole lot of useless insulting bullshit posts from you Rat. You telling me that that's not a waste of valuable time from a man of your calibre? Just shut up and admit it, you come here for diversion and amusement every bit as much as I do. I also keep my eye open for new ideas and opportunities that might fit into my business, but that's just a gravy item really. It's the interaction among webmasters from all over the world that is appealing.

I suppose I'm trying to get you to shove your arrogance and lack of respect towards others aside for a few moments and admit what I know is true, and to a small degree here I feel that I've accomplished that. I feel I understand you a bit better, I hope you can say the same about me.

As for your theory of most webmasters here being "sheep" or "cattle" or "the herd"... woudn't it be the wise webmaster that figured out how to put them all to work for himself? (as opposed to bashing them?) I may not win one of Lensman's cars, but I do have nearly 150 of these webmasters referred under me for erasercash for example. You saying I'm wasting my time? Camaaaaaaan. That's ongoing revenue that I don't have to work even one second for. That's even better than rental income, because with rentals I still have to do some maintenance work from time to time.

Your way may be super good, but there are other ways of ravaging this business for all it's worth as well, trust me. As I said before, we could learn a lot from each other, and isn't that what forums like this were really intended for?
