I've had a cold for about 3 weeks now and everytime I blow my hooter a gallon(slight exageration

)of snot comes out and I think my head is going to cave in if I blow it again. But no the next time I blow my hooter another gallon of snot appears as if by magic.
Where does it all come from?

Fossa, the nasal cavity you speak of are your sinus cavities, located in behind your nose and leading up into your forehead. These cavities can get pretty clogged up with mucous when suffering from a cold, and I find that drinking a hot lemon drink like Neo-Citron helps. Plus it knocks the shit outta me and helps me sleep.

Btw, snot is not dust, it is the material generated by glands in your sinus cavities to collect and carry away germs and other crap that you have breathed in. Just keep honkin your horn until you feel better bro, that's about all you can do, other than drinking lots of juices and eating right.

Oh, and try not to infect everyone around you, wash your hands like a fiend 10 times a day. CLEAN YOUR KEYBOARD! Those germs (called the rhinovirus, no offense to the Rhino boys) can live on a surface for up to 3 days. Thank God there's no known way to email a cold to someone.
