Ever sence I started this diet life sucks

Seriously this hardcore diet I am having to go on sucks

I seriously have ZERO energy and with a 1 month old baby that is really hard
my girl gets pissed at me every other minute now because I just have no energy to do anything
I cant even find my self to get up to change a diaper
it is bad
it is taking a toll on my work
but I called my doctor and he suggested some pills to boost my energy and so far they are working today

wtf? man get off of that shit NOW. pills to boost energy, you wouldn't need those if you ignored all this fad diet bullshit.

your body NEEDS good carbs... don't cut those out if that is what you're doing. cut out the bad carbs, sure... (like junk foods).. but don't deprive your body of something it needs in order to operate efficiently.

If your energy is low you're probably not eating enough calories.

Oh, and don't listen to any advice I give, I'm a fat ass too.

yeah it's not just "eating enough calories"...

it's not eating enough carbohydrates in particular.

..or nevermind ;)

Hey best of luck, i hope it all goes well.

If you are finding your energy levels low, drink some green tea. You get the caffeine, and it is a powerful anti-oxidant, and helps you lose weight.
What are the pills you are taking?
If you are speaking to a dietician, and working out, then you are on your way.
Increasing calories is not the answer, unless you are drastically low, you do need to eat good carbs, i.e sweet yams. Calories in must be less than calories out to lose weight.

You can hit me up for questions, i am a PT, and CFC.

i hope it goes well for you. if you're feeling left without energy simply because of the transition from your old lifestyle to a new lifestyle, then yeah that's fine... however, if it is because you're going very low, or no carb - i wouldn't advise it even in the slightest. a general rule i've always followed is never deprive the body of what it needs and operates on. that includes fat, carbs and protein.

if you're training in the gym, nearly 50 to 60% of your calories should come by way of carbohydrates. if you're limiting it down significantly lower than this number, you will want to increase consumption of complex carbs particularly before working out.

either way, stick with it and you will reach your goals inevitably.

Chris I think its going to take time for your body to adjust to its sudden difference in fuel. You're going from "premium grade" to "low grade" very quickly, your body isn't used to that and doesn't quite know how to react now. Give it a couple more days and I'm sure you'll see more of a difference every day, especially when your body starts to burn off the fat.

I used to drink 2 or 3 sodas daily. Not too bad for a soda drinker, but not the greatest for a healthy person. I cut it all out. I probably have 1 soda a week now, a Coca-Cola sounds great every now and then. But I tell ya what, after that weekly soda I'm always left asking myself "how did I ever drink 3 of these a day?" I never thought it would get to this point, but it has and its great. I didn't need to be drinking all of that. Water, Gatorade, lemonade, ice tea... I drink those now.

If it's an insanely hardcore diet, even if you do lose the weight, it will probably all come back on as soon as you stop "dieting". You should look into a healthier diet, such as Weight Watchers. You should never have to take pills to have more energy...that really sounds like an unhealthy way to lose weight. If you're hypoglycemic all the time, your body is trying to tell you something. Just try something like Weight Watchers (you can even do it online) combined with moderate exercise and you will get excellent results that you can maintain.

A lot of people here are making general suggestions, and they are great ones too. But, JupZChris, I would say that no one really knows what exactly you are eating and what you are avoiding to make educated suggestions to what might help your energy level. Please tell us all what exactly you are and are not eating so we can more appropriately respond.

Congrats to the committment you've made though, I've been changing my eating habits since the beginning of the month and it takes more than just committment, it takes self-discipline and will power. All the power to you and good luck.

Excellent suggestion--you're right it's hard to give advice without knowing the whole story.

I hear ya bro, the wife and myself are on the South Beach Diet. Hang in there. I've gotten used to having rice or potatoes or mashed potatoes with every main dish so it's quite an adjustment.

JupZChris, get yourself an eliptical trainer and workout 15 minutes per day with (4 times per week). Don't forget to warm up before starting (5 - 7 minutes).
