And those same cultures did the same when they had relatively more power. Just for starters the Persians invaded the Greeks a few times and European nations colonialized all of the Americas, Africa, Australia and parts of Asia.

Good point. I accept that. They were 'wrong' too.

I'm suggesting that trying to 'organize' a culture with limited understanding of that culture (and it thousands of years of history) is futile.

In fact, it tends to propagate the kind of reactions which seemed to justify the need to do something about it in the first place.

Foreign policy has local results.

That's precisely why I put the word 'wrong' in quotes - to assert the subjective nature of the expression.

But they did give baby g 4 more years to do so - I guess anything is possible.

Let's get to the heart of it. Nations with power - political, economic and military tend to enter into alliances and agreements in order to preserve that power. To understand why thats so undesirable would require you to understand how powerfull todays nuclear bombs are.

The terms are thrown around so loosely.

When they dropped those bombs of Japan. There was nothing left of some people but their shadows edged into concrete from massive x-ray emissions..

The weapons these days are several hundred times as powerfull as those.

No reason why not!

The main "anti" reasons are valid - ie of nukes ending up in the hands of idiots etc. But any country is fully entitled to do as it sees fit to protect it's people - especially if threatened or has neighbors with nuclear capability.

Ironic that the holder of the largest load of nuclear and bio weapons on the planet is the most vocal on why others should not have them.
