How many webmasters use 800x600 res? Any of you? Seems pretty out dated and a loss of prime real estate when surfing the web in general.

I know it's about 35-40% surfers from my stats but what about webmasters?

it's amazing how many people still use 800x600...
i have changed the screen res on tons of friends and family members to show them how they can get more desktop space...
they always complain that it makes everything too small... and changing font size isnt good enough for them.

It isnt going to change much until 800x600 stops being the default on monitors

I have a projector set at that because thats its native res and its good for dvds ect. never on my PC

unfortunalty it is still the standard, so all my sites are for 8x6...webmaster on the other hand i think it would be safe to say that everyone is at least 1024, but hell, what do i know...Someone could be using a 15inch monitor out there to submit galleries.

Design for 800x600 in mind but run at 1024x768 as most people use 1024x768 now days. Design affilate programs at 1024x768 is fine, but for surfers always design 800x600 or you risk pissing off 25-30% of your customers, there is a large amount stuck on 800x600 and will be for years.
