Accessing and modifying server files with FTP
I am not good with telnet and had my server directories set up so I can access them with cuteftp. (ex. usr/local)
However, when I am unable to modify or create files. Only download them. Is there a place is WHM or a command in telnet that I can use to change the permissions so I can upload and rewrite over files in this directory? I am trying to change the templates for xpanel if that helps at all. Hope someone can help in newbie terms |

If you can't upload and overwrite files, your host has set the wrong permission on the files or directories. Contact your host.

If the host doesn't know what it is, then you have seriously picked the wrong host.

Do you have read and write access to your www directories? They may just have set your control panel folders as read only.
Have a look in cuteftp for the 'chmod' command and check the file permissions in your home directory. You'll need to know how to do that eventually. |

Yah it's dedicated. Don't know telnet really. I guess I will have to wait until the host can look into it unless someone can tell me exactly what to do
