Here is a conversation I just had a few minutes ago...tell me what you think...

What it all boils down to is this:
months ago, the owner of that site and I agreed to exchange some pics and a few movies to put on eachothers site in the members only area along with a banner pointing to that site (to gain more traffic etc.) well, the the owner said he wanted access to my members area to view the page I created with the content he gave me from his site. I agreed and gave him access...well, what he did was go into my members area and downloaded tons of my personal and exclusive content without so much as asking if I minded. He felt he did nothing wrong.. After that I told him I didnt want to do business with him and told him to take down the content I had given him. Fetish Temptress |

Am I missing something here?
Is he using the content he downloaded on his site? Or is he just using them for whacking material on his hard drive (which most of your members probably do as well)? [This message has been edited by [Labret] (edited 11-09-2001).] |

I assume he downloaded for himself-I dont know if my stuff is on his site now or not.I dont have access...But, my point is that he wanted access to view HIS PAGE not to download my stuff ....and he didnt ask if it was ok that he do this..
This is like you giving somebody assess to your protected area to view one page and he downloaded all your exclusive content. Fetish Temptress |

Best thing to do is to learn from this  Don't give out username/passwords unless you expect them to view your entire members site. I agree it's kind of shitty if he downloaded the entire site with one of those web suckers without letting you know that he was going to, but if he's not using the content on his website there's not much you can do about it since you gave him access  Spell out what people can do when you give out complimentary usernames from here on out Tim |

If he's just using it for spankin', I don't see a big deal... in fact, stuff has to be downloaded in order to view it. If I look at your page, everything on it is downloaded instantly to my system. No harm.
However, if he starts using it as his own content... then I say take a long knife and gut the fucker from crotch to skull. Split him open and drag his fucking entrails behind your car down the freeway. |

Hey Fetish Temptress, I have gotten screwed more than I can count by webmasters doing the same thing, and offering me such in return and then to find out they don't follow thru with there end... SO now I will never do it again, I'm sick of trying to be nice I wouldn't doubt that the webmasters I gave my password and usernames too didn't download all my content as well. So I'll never do it again. A lesson learnt on my end thats for sure
