how about you go find a news report of the Canadian aircraft carrier that is heading to the region to assist the US aircraft carrier all ready there.
Then you can explain how big your dad is.

I'll wait.

Why you are waiting read the thread. My point was in answer to another thread and I stated, that if other countries can afford more then they should send more, it shouldnt be left for it automatically be the US that donates the most.

But I see now why you got so offended, was it because I was emplying that the US couldnt afford it? Im sure you understand thats not how I meant it. Sorry to have hurt your feelings.

This isnt a contest to see who can donate the most money and then go around bragging that they are number 1 and that other countries suck. This is about helping people in one of the biggest disasters of our lifetime. Over 120,000 people are now dead and that number will surely rise much higher. Many woman, children, and men are left with mangled bodies and missing loved ones that they'll never get to see again. It doesnt matter how much which countries donate. What does matter is that they do anything they can to help. It'd be nice if people could handle this like adults and just help like this little girl i met at walmart raising money. She only had a jar full of donations when i last saw her but at least she wasnt out after bragging rights.

Exactly. Not a time for leaving it for others, all countries should and are donating all they can.

The Bush admin once again had a chance to redeem the US in the eyes of the world and failed. One of the worlds largest modern disasters and $35 million, its a fucking joke and its downright embarrassing. The United States government is the wealthiest on the planet.

nope, my point was that you're not bright enough to know that canada doesn't have an aircraft carrier in service. This goes back to not being able to put a dollar value on the things the US is sending that others simply don't have.

All over US TV is companies organizing fund raisers and making long term comittments to ensuring that this is handled correctly.

My understanding is that Bush gave nearly cent that was in the emergency fund up front. He has to go to congress to get approval for amounts over what the emergancy fund holds. (heard it on CNN so cant say if its fact or not) However, I bet we are way over 200 million before the end of next week.

I do see and underestand the frustrations. If we were not so commited in Iraq, we would have been more prepared fund this event. Instead, we are spending billions in a wasted effort to bring "democratic system" to a land that will NEVER adopted it.

Im torn also, but you can count on the US as being the long term, heaviest contriburtor. We always have been and we always will be.

The US doesn't need to be redeemed in anyones eyes. I love when the Bush-bashing sheep come out in droves. Canada does something stand up for the first time in years and all of a sudden the US is dogshit again?

SO predictable. You bitch when we interfere and you bitch when we don't. We give too much or not enough. It all boils down to this: at the end of the day, unless you PERSONALLY gave more than ANY of the countries involved, your opinion means just about Jack and shit. And yes, Jack has left town.

Instead of putting silly laughing faces at the end of each sentence you right, why dont you explain what you meant.

Just to recap I said this

Totaly agree if countries like the UK can afford more then we should give more. Countries will give what they can Im sure
you said this
[QUOTE][QUOTE]wrong, snapper head.
These countries are "pledging" money. Meanwhile, the US is already sending planes, ships, food, water, doctors, and medical supplies.

It would be nice to put a price on this stuff but since a lot of it no one else even has (think canada) its hard to put a dollar value on what its worth.

you kids sure do have a lot to learn. hopefully your still youngPlease explain to people not as clever as you, what has Canadian boats got to do with the fact that I said, that if countries can afford more then they should send more. Please explain why I was wrong in saying that and what people not knowing about foriegn counties boat capacity has to do with it

You people all need to stop bitching. This isn't about whose dick is bigger, it's about helping people in need. All countries will be donating much, much more than they have so far, so talking about who donated what up til now is utterly useless.

Ofcourse, any country that doesn't step up to the plate deserves to be confronted, but that isn't something that has any relevance right now.

This disaster isn't about the US or any other country. Yes it's possible for probably every nation to double or triple the food and meds they have sent.

But it's probably more effective to not blow all the aid on food and meds and wait to help in the rebuilding of infrastructure when that phase begins.

I wonder if the numbers including the private sector of each country are compiled anywhere. I know Pfizer alone gave 35 million dollars themselves.

No, the bottom line is what I said it was. The fact that you are a sad, bitter troll has nothing to do with it. I'm pretty sure you aren't the authority for what constitutes a good enough donation. Until your donation matches those of any of the countries in question, please feel free to fuck yourself.

US Tsunami response debacle has sealed America's reputation as a greedy, bigot-infested, murderous nation of under-educated and overfed tards.

The decline of the west is speeding up, and few people will shed a tear as America slips into the abyss.

I have no love of the Bush administration but your comment is offensive. The US and the people of the US are always there to assist in any tragedy, this one is no exception.

You are as ignorant as those you accuse of ignorance. Remember one fact there are millions of Americans who are from the affected nations and they have families effected by this tragedy and they and other Americans will and are doing much to assist.

Not only offensive but incorrect also.

Australia already has people on the groung helping - they were there within 48 hours - we have our airforce flying a constant stream of supply and evacuation flights - we have mobile hospitals, mobille morgues, water purification plants and much more already there.

We were the first to get people into Aceh and - we have teams of Army construction engineers and their equipment on the way.

And while we're at it just divide the amount of relief dollars countries are giving by the population of those countries and you will see which countries are giving the most - and for God's sake get some up to date figures on the amounts donated - Australia has now pledged a total of 70 million.

So stop beating your chests and give some money to these people instead of bullshit hot air.

Spain on Wednesday announced the largest single contribution - $68 million

Canada's government has pledged 40$ million (*NOTE: more than americans but you wont find CNN reporting we are giving more than USA)

http://www.pulse24.com/News/Top_Stor...1-002/page.asp

The United States is offering a total of $35 million,
Japan with $30 million.
Australia and Germany have now pledged $27 million,
Saudi Arabia $10 million.

WTF !!!!

Bush Inauguration 270$ Million

i don;t think it has something to do with the fact that he doesn't like the president, what i understood is that countries that are a lot poorer than US (spain for example) offered a lot of help while the US even though its a huge superpower didnt offer that much..

I also think Saudi Arabia didn't offer that much, if you take into consideration the amount of oil they have and stuff!
