Where are you buying packs of 9 cards for $9.95? In my comic shops we sell them for $3.95. Maybe you should start buying from me. I've also got grab bags of 50 cards for $9.95.

Yu-Gi-Oh is almost dead...it was making us nice money two years ago. An extra $10,000 a month or so...nothing like the extra $100k a month we made during the Pokemon craze though.

I wish I knew... My son is also 6 years old, and for Christmas all he wanted were Yu Gi Oh cards and accessories. I got him that "Duel Disk" for $29.99, 6 packs of YGO cards at $4/each, and some action figures at like $12/each. They are making a killing on this stuff. Too bad I have no idea whether they are worth anything. He's got a bunch that look rare, but we don't know. I know there's some kind of guide out there, so I need to pick it up...

Maybe I should start a website and combine my mainstream and adult biz. Yu-Gi-Oh cards in exchange for traffic, content, or sign-ups.

if you think 10$ is a lot, imagine paying $200 or more for out-of-print magic:the gathering boosters (12 or 15 cards)

I love Magic...there's a 50% markup on it. Yu-Gi-Oh is like 40% markup at $4 a pack.

Oh my god, have you SEEN the rules for that shit??

I looked at them for about half an hour and didn't even learn 20% of the game. How in the hell can you try to explain that to a 6 year old?

It was really sick when i was playing
after legends came out i made a killer black white deck

4 chains
4 howling mines
4 island san
sol ring
black lotus
mox pearl
mox jet
mind twist
4 wilo wisps
1 demonic tutor
2 lib of leng
1 ivory tower
2 mana vaults

the rest were a mixture of cards (creatures, disenchants, drain lifes, terror, spirit links, paralyse) which could be switched into and out of my sideboard to combat different deck structures.

deck design was a hand distructions/deck distructions

The goal was to get one howling mind 2 chains and a island santuary out.

with that combo you would draw two cards and have to throw away 2 while i would draw one, be immune from attacks and still be able to draw one

then just had to wait for a mind twist or the demon tutor to come up and then clear the hand and you would not be able to draw another card.

Back then I didnt have much cash and started around Revised....so my fave deck was a red/green dragon/burn deck

Shivans, elves for mana ofcourse, dragon whelps, juggernauts, channel/fireball, etc...

Also had a mono-black discard deck and a white weenie....but ive prob tried about every deck type out there ;p

in MTG Online, the last thing I had was a blue/red land-destruction deck with a bounce twist. If I could get our Isochron scepter and imprint Boomerang on it, i could return one land to your hand each turn...if its early, you are screwed. If it's late, i'll use my LD spells to take away your land while i boomerang stuff...

I have been a fan of black/green or black/white decks.

my favorite combo was white knight/wirling devish and pestilence i could take out all creatures and still keep my pestilence

Never got to play with isochron scepter but i would definately add it to my deck if i were playing now, (berserk , shelter , Raise the Alarm, humble,Blessed Reversal, fog )

DB, DBZ & DBGT
in my case, my son gets his cards in exchange for an allowance, so it has become a reward that he earns

today he sold his first duplicate sets for a profit. He got a bunch of sets for Christmas from various relatives and had some duplicates, so sold 3 of them to his buddy for $5...the little entrepreneur...brings a tear to my eye

That's cool man....I was manager of a comic book shop once, until it vanished (literally!)

I came in to work (as I had done the day before...) and found the store dark, so figured my boss just hadn't opened that day. Then my key didn't work and upon further inspection, the store was completely empty.

I found out he got busted for software piracy the night before, so the law came and emptied out the store and shut him down

Never got to play with isochron scepter but i would definately add it to my deck if i were playing now, (berserk , shelter , Raise the Alarm, humble,Blessed Reversal, fog )
I just opened up MTGO to get the deck listing...here it is:

2x Concentrate
2x Echoing Ruin
3x Hill Giant
3x Isochron Scepter
3x Mahamoti Djinn
3x Serum Visions
4x Boomerang
4x Condescend
4x Molten Rain
4x Shock
4x Stone Rain
12x Island
12x Mountain

There is nothing better/more fun than killing your opponent with a Hill Giant in 2004 because he laughs that it's in your deck, but then can't get anything into play to stop it and loses

Although I have found that 80% of people just concede the match if I get out Isochron/Boomerang before round 5, which happens often...that is kind of boring.

Actually, they're expensive because you are buying them in single packs. Try going to either a distributor or a store specializing in them, get a box full - you'll save a minimum of 50% and then you give them to him as he earns them. That's what I used to do with my son - and I wouldn't let him 'play' with them unless they were doubles

The deal was that if we were to spend so much money, he would have to collect them & keep them in mint condition. He didn't have a choice and with all the doubles he had a fair amount to play/compete/trade with. We have 3-4 pokemon cards that were worth $400.US each at one point. Once a new movie is made the value and interest comes back.

I don't think you would have much luck against me
forcing people to discard a card before they draw is a game killer especially if you have mind twisted their hand away.

i think mind twist is banned now , but that when it was available it was a killer card.

Especially with dark rituals being available,
i don't know how many matches i won because of a first round mind twist and a second round animate dead.

I don't find chains that powerful because they are mostly only useful in combos, not on their own. Read the last part of the card:

"This enchantment does not apply to the first card drawn by a player during the draw phase."

So unless something is out making me draw more than the usual one card per turn, your chains aren't affecting me. Also, they don't specify opponent, so they work against you as well.

I much prefer Underworld Dreams
