i understand that but it a great card in a tourny because everyone has some kind of fast draw, look at bouncer deck that posted, all your draw one cards are useless.

with 73% chance that i will have both a chains and the mana need to cast it in the first round (swamp, + dark ritual or mox jet or mox pearl, or black lotus)
your bounce would work
but my side board always had disenchant and some extra land destruction (sinkholes, balance)

and boomrang is 2 blue which means you would have to wait until round 2 to cast it

i still have the possiblity of a first round game winner with my deck

in which case your entire hand is gone you are forced to throw away the first card you draw each round
while i have the option of drawing and discarding until i find another chains or keeping the first card by paying the island santuary cost
sure i could be taking one point of damage from the mana vault but given the fact that you would need to draw two islands and boomerang to get rid of the chains (3 rounds minimum)
there is a 23.5% chance i would get second chains at which time i just need to get 1 mana to untap my mana vault

I never actually cast boomerang, I simply imprint it on my Isochron Sceptre so it's re-useable each turn (for colorless mana).

Either way though, this was just a fun little Type II deck I put together for MTG online.....if playing a guy with power Type I cards, you'd almost surely need a T1 deck to compete

well wizards of the coast bought tsr when they went belly up
and both have creatures in common but magic is truely a common numetrics
game. If you can design a deck which maximizes the number of potential combo (for your theme) in the smallest number of cards (60 minimum) then your odds are significantly better that you will win.

D&D is more about just pretending (and random dice rolls)

although you could come up with some very sick power combos in AD&D

frisky chest, weight chest attraction on a caltrop

cantrip to teleport it into a crowded army camp.
