15 down, 5 to go

Yep, about 3 weeks ago I realized I was gaining weight faster than a baby hippo, so I decided to do something about it immediately.

I have gone from 220 back down to 205. Five more pounds and I will be a happy camper.

I can do it, just have to make sure I don't lose so much my suits no longer fit me.

It is a diet my daughter told me about, called the "raw diet."

It sucks. Probably the worst diet I have ever been on in my entire life. No cooked food. Fruit, veggies, fresh nuts.

You can eat cooked food once a week, but be sure to include a salad.

I have not been following it to a tee, but I haven't had any take out, soda pop, or sweets. I have knocked soda pop out and have cut down on the alcohol severely.

I try to eat earlier in the evening, and probably eat more frequently, but it will be fruits and veggies or crack open some nuts when I do.

I will say one thing, a hot meal is really appreciated when I have actually had one.

raw foodism is also extremely healthy for you....aka the eden diet...

there are some hoobidity doobity restaruants up in the bay area that specialize in that food...supposedly they can put on an amazing dish or two, but the prep work for that stuff to make it even kinda 'cooked feeling' is grueling...

congrats on doing it man, I'm down about 15 lbs myself but been doing it off this other diet that's not so harsh, the lindora diet it's called, really pretty mellow, it just jossels the carb intake and metabolism around, but seems to be doing the trick...

if I had more willpower during this time of the year, I'd do the raw thing for a while myself...harshest thing I've done was juice fasting for 7 days...felt great...maybe after the holidays I'll bang out a session of that

anyways, I've drank too much caffeine today and need to quit babbeling...

congrats again...

A friend of mine told me about one of those raw food restaurants she went to up north, and she said the food sucked . . . and she is a vegetarian.

I know a nice juicy cheeseburger sounds really good right about now. Cooked of course.

I don't do anything for the holidays that involves eating, so no big deal. Besides, I wanted to lose the weight before Internext so I looked sharp in my new threads.

Congrats on the weight loss. It's HARD... I know I have lost 75 lbs in about 8 months myself and it is not easy.

75 lbs? Did you lose a pet or something?

And FYI, when I say I cut down on drinking that means from 4 or 5 beers a week to 1 or less. Cutting out alcohol is not exactly a challenge to me.

But congrats on your loss

Heh naw. Just decided I was tired of being the fat guy at the bar that always got looked over. One day decided to change... 42 waist to 36 in under a year. I am pretty happy.
See you in Vegas. Merry Christmas.

congrats guys, when I was dieting I lost 65 lbs during a 6 month period pretty much. I kept most of it off but a few months ago I gained about 10 of it back and right now I'm back down 5 of it so hopefully soon I will be back down to where I was and will keep it off. Good luck
