15 minutes of water going straight down the drain? That's like 100+ litres completely wasted. There has to be a more efficient and environmentally friendly way to do it, maybe some kind of device that could generate the steam independently.
You could also just try a low-tech radiant heat lamp. |

Hubby likes hot showers, but our water gets hot fast, so there is no need to wait 15 minutes. I like my baths... I have a whirlpool tub that I'll lie in for an hour. But, until my boobs heal from surgery, I'm not allowed to take any baths

Not quite to that extreme... I just get it running because my hot water tank is in the basement and I'm 6 floors up so it can take a minute or two for it to get just right.

30 seconds to a minute usualy for me..
Why do you need steam do you stand in your bathroom for that 15 minutes absorbing it or just getting in the shower? I dont like it steamy at all. I get out of the bathroom as soon as im dry so i dont have to be in it.

I've never heard of such a thing? lol My hair is VERY long, so I spend at least 30 minutes in the shower... I would run out of hot water half way through if I let it run 15 mins before getting in.

I have a natural gas water heater that I'm told was built for a house twice this size. I love it. Never a worry about being the last person showering and getting cold water. My master bathroom steams up nicely.
