Need some input/advice/thoughts about retention rate and CCBill
I've started sending very small amount of traffic to partnership sites since June.. And I was wondering what was a good % of retention rate or people staying active.
A lot of people cancelled after the 1 or 2nd day. I know it's not a lot of members, but could it be the sites? Or is this normal? ![]() |

It can be the site that's for sure. But a lot of members sign up and cancel it, it's normal. A lot of them probably wants free porn, so they sign up for a couple days and then cancel.
I had a couple members on my site that signed up for one month, never logged on and then canceled... I just don't get it lol. |

Maybe you could ask for an access to those site to see if there is enough content to make members stay there.

BTW no need for "Al Bundy" prices, if the member likes the content, he stays, no matter if the price is $14.97 or $29.95 |

You know its strange ... I had the same experiences with my sites .. 50% would cancel straight away, many times even before they logged into the members area!
So I made my sites full price join .. no trials, and not only did signup ratios get better, but retention improved aswell. Go figure ?! |

are not catering to the bargain minded surfer. You are telling them you are confident enough in your product not to give them a trial. If a surfer is commited enough to pay full price he is more likley to hang around longer. The American consumer feels that if he is paying more it must be better. ![]() |

yes....signup rates are better when you drop trials. I used to have a 9.95 trial price that members would abuse because they would just sign up for the trial once a month. Plus back then I had a 25% conversion from trial to full.
But now that I don't offer trials, the conversion rate (first rebill) is 35%. ... And since I keep my price point low (19.95) those same members that would abuse the 9.95 trials will still come back every once in awhile and buy the 19.95 membership. I'll never offer a trial again in my life.

the signups got better because you get this time only people that are really into that kind of content or think it is worth their money. Those free loaders don't care to lose the trail fee. In three days to pull the whole site empty with a tool made for it.
Retention is getting better because you get buyers. These people are willing to pay what ever it takes to see your content if it is good. Trails don't even work on ref share program. Webmasters are not making enough on it. ![]() |

there is something knows as "Perceived Value"...in that, identical products can be separated by price & packaging...and the consumer will usually believe the higher priced item to be of better quality, because of the expense

sponsors use trials to help manipulate their conversion ratios
full joins are normally more profitable than trials, but they do not convert as well, thus when you want to bring your ratios down a bit, you offer some surfers trials, or you try to save the exiting surfer, but you need to be careful working it that way |
