One very important factor that has not been mentioned, is the fact that the parents will most likely out live the child, therefore what time she has will be filled with love and care. She will never know her abnormality. God bless those parents for being so strong.

I don't think she will incur a problem finding a prom date; if that's what your're worried about.

While I certainly don't think she will have an easy time in life, it is important to realise that you are putting your own experience of life on her. If all she knows is the life she has she will not be able to compare it to and hopefully will find a level that is her peace.

I didnt watch the video the first time I replied, i didnt notice it was there. That video really touched me. The truth is when thats your child, when thats your own blood, when you've been there since day one, etc. It would be impossible not to love that child. Look at how cute she was giving hugs to someone she just met. People like that should not have to worry about the financial pressures of this world. I hope everybody sends a little something to that family.

No family should ever have to go through something like that. But while she is unfortunate in so many ways, she is so lucky to have a family that will love her no matter what. It sounds to me like many of you here would have stuck her in a home or institution somewhere and left her there to rot.
