I was hearing on the news that we're spending MILLIONS of dollars to help feed the refugees from Afganistan. What's up with that ?? They live in a country ruled by the fucking Taliban, so they leave it because they're afraid to get bombed, so they come leave their homes and the US feeds them and gives them shelter. Also about them partying in the street. Those folks don't have TV or radio. So how do you expect them to know the truth. They may have heard on the radio the government lies that are fed to them and thats why they were dancing. Shit for all you know, they were partying about a wedding or something.

The news is not always truthful. If I remember correctly, the video of them was during the day time. They are 10-11 hours ahead of us. How can it be daytime here 9am or after and daytime there. So you could have been watching a video of them partying from 3 days before.

Hmmm, gotta disagree on this one point. I know for a fact that Canada sent professional teams to New York to help out with the rescue and salvage. These teams have been on many such world disasters, and we sent them a few days after it all happened. I also know that Canada held telethons across the country, I remember the one here did very well, a lot of money was sent.

I'm sure that a lot of people from other countries went online and donated at the red cross website too, to the tune of many hundred thousand dollars. The money is still pouring in from what I can tell. The US is getting helped, in many ways by many countries, it's just not as sensasionalized this time.

You gotta remember, there were a few hundred Canadians in those towers, and a few Canadians were passengers on the planes too. I know of a good many other countries that had many citizens in the towers too, and I'm sure they all helped out in some way. It was really amazing to see so many people around the world showing up at prayer services to offer their support and condolences as well. I'm just sorry that it takes a major tragedy like this to bring people together.

Cheer up Slick, maybe a few of those refugees will yet see the light of how it really is, and then it will be money well-spent.

I'm late to this but I'm with Gary's first post. I watched a program on the T.V. here the other day and a lot of the people in afgan have never even seen a newspaper or magazine, let alone heard a radio broadcast or seen a TV . They still get there news the old fashion way. A guy goes around from town to town and he sings the news to them. Another good idea I heard the other day was that the U.S. should start dropping radios into afgan(those wind up one's, no batteries needed). Then increase the amount of broadcasts of radio America or whatever it's called. A lot of people in that country have no clue as to what's going on. They have just heard that some christians want to kill them. I think it's time for the U.S. and British to start pumping in the favorable information to the people of afgan. There living in another century.

After the first city was levelled they STILL would not stop so the had to be kicked in the head a second time. It may not be the USA's finest hour, but the event does serve to show the world what utter destructive power even a small nuke can have. I say it's a deterrant.

On the same note, the USA would be braindead not to have a nuclear arsenal ready to defend itself, in light of the fact that at least 10 other countries have them too, including France, Pakistan, certain Russian countries, and it is suspected that countries like Iran, Iraq, Libya and North Korea have nukes as well (or are trying to get them). Criticizing the USA for protecting itself is really stupid, because the second that your country is in a horrible situation they are the first nation that is looked to for help.

Well, the term "nuke" has become something of a catch-all phrase for wiping out an area. No matter how it's done, "they got nuked" doesn't always mean that it involved nuclear weapons. How many times have I heard a webmaster say that so-and-so sponsor "nuked" him from their program? Lots of times I've heard the term "I got nuked". But did they? no.

And I give a lot of leeway to the USA after such an aweful horrific and cowardly attack as this. If a few people wanna shout "nuke em" then let them. There's a small part of me that wishes they WOULD nuke that region, it's been nothing but fighting and war-mongering in the entire middle east for most of my life (38 years young). Every other week on the news it's "palestinians bombed this" or "Iran attacked that" or "So and so called all muslims for a holy war on such and such". Fuck man, aren't you sick of it? I am. Sometimes, some people just don't understand how stupid and unfair they are being to the world until/unless some brute deadly force is used against them. Japan was one example of this. The middle east might yet be another. For a race that talks a lot about peace (arabs,muslims), their way of life shows them to be fanatical assholes that can't just get on with life and leave their fucking neighbors alone.

Another part of me wishes we'd find another habitable planet, and send them all there to kill each other, and leave this world in peace.

I watched a program on the T.V. here the other day and a lot of the people in afgan have never even seen a newspaper or magazine, let alone heard a radio broadcast or seen a TV . They still get there news the old fashion way. A guy goes around from town to town and he sings the news to them. Another good idea I heard the other day was that the U.S. should start dropping radios into afgan(those wind up one's, no batteries needed). Then increase the amount of broadcasts of radio America or whatever it's called. A lot of people in that country have no clue as to what's going on. They have just heard that some christians want to kill them. I think it's time for the U.S. and British to start pumping in the favorable information to the people of afgan. There living in another century.

No matter how it's done, "they got nuked" doesn't always mean that it involved nuclear weapons. How many times have I heard a webmaster say that so-and-so sponsor "nuked" him from their program? Lots of times I've heard the term "I got nuked". But did they? no. And I give a lot of leeway to the USA after such an aweful horrific and cowardly attack as this. If a few people wanna shout "nuke em" then let them. There's a small part of me that wishes they WOULD nuke that region, it's been nothing but fighting and war-mongering in the entire middle east for most of my life (38 years young). Every other week on the news it's "palestinians bombed this" or "Iran attacked that" or "So and so called all muslims for a holy war on such and such". Fuck man, aren't you sick of it? I am. Sometimes, some people just don't understand how stupid and unfair they are being to the world until/unless some brute deadly force is used against them. Japan was one example of this. The middle east might yet be another. For a race that talks a lot about peace (arabs,muslims), their way of life shows them to be fanatical assholes that can't just get on with life and leave their fucking neighbors alone. Another part of me wishes we'd find another habitable planet, and send them all there to kill each other, and leave this world in peace.
