They were married for 7 years, she was good to him, she cooked, clean, laundry, ran his errands, paid the bills, managed finances, made galleries, fed his rotating scripts, never denied him sex, she was a good wife.
He actually called her names, and even hit her at times. Finally, he talked her into selling their home, and he kept all the $...gave her 15% of what she was supposed to get. His family was very nosy, imposed a lot, and he told her he needed 10 months to 2 years to think if he wants to be with her!
Now she is out in the world, trying to live, asking him to give her a divorce and what by law is hers and he is just ignoring her. Lat email he sent her said "he paid for her college (which he didn't he paid 3 semesters) and he helped her out for 7 years so he has to cut the umbilical cord!!!
When she met him she was 19, full scholarship to a good college, gave it up for him, went everywhere the military sent him, and supported him as a wife.

What do you guys think she should do?
He is living it up in relatives homes while she has to survive on her own.

They both post here but I haven't seen them on so she asked me to post and ask what you all think.

wow...well first of all she should have never have given up the college scholarship.... to me that screams "I'm going to college for my Mrs. and now that I have it, I don't need college.".

Never rely on your spouse for your entire financial security. This is mostly pointed at the women of course, but some men are completely supported by their wives as well. You always have to keep yourself in a position to be able to walk away and live just fine if your relationship goes sour...something my mother taught us growing up.

Tell her to move to a new town, start a new life. If she was capable of taking care of a grown child and his abuse she is strong enough to start over. Key thing I would do is hit the gym. Make it my new religion. It will relieve stress, give her more energy and make her feel better. Then go back to school and work hard. Abandonment is rough for anyone. I think that sometimes things don't work out but you have to be an adult about it and come to a fair solution.

Bottom line is she can get bitter, or get better.

Dwelling on the unfairness of it all will do nothing for her, and it won't change him. She needs to put herself back up at the top of that priority list and get herself straightened out and not worry about what he is doing anymore, because he is not her problem. It doesn't sound like there are kids, so she doesn't have it as bad as a lot of us who get divorced do or did.

It hurts, it's hard, and it sucks...but here's a life lesson: it isn't what it should be, it isn't what it could be; it is what it is. So she needs to accept it, and change the only thing she has the power to change-herself, and her life.
